In year one a lot of people complained because the bosses were too spongy. Bungie gives us more dynamic bosses, then we complain because we want the old sponges back.
Don't get me wrong, I want all the strikes back in rotation. Never had a problem with sponges myself. But most people can't make up their damn mind.

I agree.

No, we wanted more variety.

Editado por RingersCheckmate: 4/30/2016 3:01:29 PMWe got more variety. Instead you complain for bosses you've killed a hundred times before in y1 and bitched about them being bullet spongy.
-
You're so right. I guess that this is in the human blood to always complain about something

I for one look forwards to Taken Phogoth, who can likely blink, use Taken Vandal regen shields, and whose Ogre beams now go around corners.

Sure, if they Re-Vamp em and make them more dynamic that'd be sweeeet.

Not really, all Ghorn did was punish people who didn't have it. Not just on LFG, but in everything. If bosses were sponges, and you didn't have the Anti-Sponge...well you were in for a chore.

I'd argue all the Strike bosses are still sponges. They just have add waves, no actual boss mechanics other than DPS when you have the chance. Only the Court of Oryx bosses seem to break the mold, but the strike bosses it's always 1) DPS boss. 2) Handle adds. 3) Repeat until loot drops. Court you have stuff to actually do in order to kill the boss, pop a shield with thralls, kill all the adds to drop a shield, get the bosses close enough to cancel each other's shield. Those are dynamic bosses with good mechanics. Strike bosses are just loot piñatas that soak up hits until engrams drop out. I will say Restorative Mind is an exception.

That's fair. And there is only so much that can be done when the goal of the game is to shoot stuff, particularly where strikes are concerned. How many mechanics can you add and still keep the time to about 20 minutes? The thing that year 2 strikes do an amazing job at is force movement. (Cheesing aside) shield brothers, Saber, and alak-ul all force players to maneuver the arena. In year one strikes, most had you hunker down and dps the boss while keeping the adds at bay. Personally I'd rather see more strikes like what we see in y2. Malok works differently, but adds legitimate environmental hazards that you need to deal with I'd you're gunna get campy.

Agreed. I think a lot of it has to do with a lack of good class roles. Everyone is mainly DPS with a few support abilities on some sub classes. If class roles were better defined with more distinction between them it not only would allow for different boss mechanics, like aggro, but it would allow for more diverse groups. On the downside it would screw matchmaking.
