Never, in ALL my years of gaming, have I ever encountered something so unanimously hated on by a community.
Skill-Based Matchmaking.
Granted, the game has numerous problems. I'll ignore all of those for now. SBMM has proven, time and time again, to be the constant plague of PvP. I've seen COUNTLESS posts asking and begging for its removal. And yet, after months of "tweaking the matchmaking," it is still blatantly obvious that it exists, and is consistently ruining the experience. Unbelievably horrible connections, the constant sweaty matches, and the solo-players-against-full-teams-in-iron-banner because of SBMM is pathetic and inexcusable. This is YOUR game, Bungie. The community has been in agreement for MONTHS that this is a problem and simply needs to be removed, or at the very least, DRASTICALLY changed so that it is no longer relevant.
I'm still in disbelief how this is even still a thing. Remember Black Ops 3, when they tried implementing SBMM in? The backlash from the community was loud and clear, and Treyarch, in response, took it back out within a matter of days. YOURS has been causing issues for the game for months, the community has been voicing their opinions on it loudly, and still, nothing has been done. It is simply pathetic that no positive action has been taken regarding the situation, and that you don't listen to the clear voice of your community. It's disrespectful and disgraceful.
You need to fix this, Bungie. We're past the point of asking politely. The community DEMANDS that you remove SBMM from Destiny.

Bungie: "Sorry, what did you say. I wasn't listening."

4 RespuestasI see what you're saying... But lag is based on your own Internet bud.
-
1 RespuestaBungie doesnt give a shit
-
yea...im getting less kills most of the time but still its pretty fun
-
Full teams shouldnt go up against full team of solo players. Its -blam!-ing retarded, not only that after the game is done it doesnt -blam!-ing do another matchmaking for the full team. Instead bungie retarded ass decides to put the same full team against the same solo players for the next 2-3 games thinking the solo players will somehow pull something out their -blam!-ing ass to come up with a win.
-
Ur completely right except for one thing. Lag is completely based on YOUR internet. If it's coming from bungie side, you can rest assured that everyone else playing destiny is also lagging.
-
Git gud
-
The problem is Bungie listens TOO much. Year 1 had lag and a few little issues but because this community consists of a bunch of whining -blam!-s..this game has become so inconsistent that Bungie can't handle it. You people (whiners) are never satisfied and ruined the potential of this game.

All they care about is sterling treasure

I agree, kill SBMM entirely. If they could geo-fence SBMM, things would be better, for those players in tiers and locations with lots of people. What those tiers are and where all those people are, I have no idea. If a 3.0 is killing you all the time, I get that it's probably not fun, but find a way to play to your own strengths, in the game types you like. Or just take a look at how that player is wrecking and if there's anything to learn. If not, it'll be over in a few minutes anyway & another game is next. That's what I do anyway.
-
PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS BUNGIE. LAG IS TERRIBLE NOW
-
I really wish they would listen to you, but I have lost faith awhile ago
-
Agreed, attempting to play iron banner right now is like pulling teeth. Nothing but lag and red bars. The PVP in this game is becoming more and more of a joke.

Editado por GOAT Spartan: 4/26/2016 10:21:42 PMI just want the horrendous lag gone! Im tired of seeing 2/3 of my bullets not registering and sniper rounds just get eaten after someone tanks them and i die in two shots. I have no problem facing people of equal skill, but not when i cant literally kill them! IB is a cheat fest as usual, and my bullets keep disappearing, same as the last two.

40 RespuestasLet me translate "I want to be able to play against weaker competition and pad my stats on players who aren't as good as me".

Even the Mexicans want it gone !

9 RespuestasYou literally speak for the top 1% of players only. You happen to be one of the top 1%. So, um, you don't speak for 99% of the community.

9 RespuestasEditado por Star Gazer2: 4/27/2016 6:14:33 AMWhich seems better, an optional SBMM playlist, or SBMM being forced on everyone? Judging from the comments, I think people like have things forced on them. Some of the reasons people play video games is to have an escape from the challenges of life, sometimes they want to play a game and win it without feeling stressed. I personally can't find pvp that fun anymore, sure at times you may want to challenge yourself against a good team, but I can no longer play casually like in year 1. Every match I feel like I'm playing to be MLG, and I hate MLG. I'm getting carried away... Anyway, what Bungie is doing with SBMM is killing the experience for some people because it is forced. Bungie was able to separate SBMM and CBMM in their Halo games and everyone was happy. Then they refused to provide that separation in Destiny, so now you are seeing more and more people hating Bungie's pvp. edit: Seems some people are highly against the idea of having a Ranked playlist and a Social playlist, they seem to believe that the smartest idea is to only have SBMM because all they care about is skill, nothing more.

Funny, my connections are better now than they ever were. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that it's a blend of sbmm and cbmm. Do you even read the updates? No, of course not. Then you'd see sense. Can't have that.
-
so your saying you miss being able to pub stomp newbs? Is your K/D suffering? I love the new matchmaking personally.
-
They know better than to believe that these forums are "the community" and to cater to you entitled little assholes who think you don't deserve to face competition. The "lag" is overblown, the number of people who actually have an issue finding matches and can only find matches in other countries is minuscule, oh you're a top 100 trials team and your pissed you keep facing the same team? Get the -blam!- out. It's good that they do not build the game based off anything people here have to say, otherwise they'd have a shitty game that 100 people would enjoy.
-
Agreed. Even though SBMM fails the 'eyeball' test time and time again, Bungie still needs time to "analyaze more data". I hate that... it can be totally broken to anyone playing it or looking at it, but they still take months and months to fix it. Unless of course there is a glitch that takes advantage of their reward system, in which case that will be hot-fixed damn fast!

35 RespuestasEditado por Azaxx: 4/26/2016 1:36:00 AMOne of the biggest arguments for SBMM is that "I'm casual and I don't wanna be curb stomped all of the time, you're a 1% minority, so shut up". This has to be the most flawed logic in existence. 1. If you're casual, that by definition means you don't care about winning anywhere near to the extent that "pros" do. So you shouldn't care about being paired with pros every now and then. 2. If the pro community is 1%, then only 1 out of 100 games you'll be paired with them on CBMM. So chances are you will hardly play against the best players and curb stampings won't happen. 3. In order for pro players to be paired with each other, the matchmaking system searches the entire globe and not your country to pair you into a game. Meaning the likelihood that most if not all players will be red bar is next to 100%. 4. The top percentile is the most vocal percentile in the game, they spread the word about everything for any game. Casual players do not go out and make videos, blogs and articles about the game because they are casual - not invested. The top percentile are the reason the game thrives, because they allow it to by spreading the word. They deserve every right to be pandered to. In essence, while you may not like playing against the best players, chances are it rarely happens and the entirety of the argument for SBMM over CBMM is flawed at such a fundamental level.

Yeah skill based match making has got to go... I too am tired of the "sweaty" matches.

4 RespuestasA lot of people love SBMM. I love a challenge in the crucible. I don't want games with complete noobs on both team and then wreck them. Yes, it would be fun for the first few games, but I want a challenge. SBMM is a good thing. It is almost never laggy for me. I have a wireless connection too. Stop the hate. Not everyone wants SBMM to leave.
