No. Sometimes we are farming bosses, and sometimes we are playing for points. Since these two things are not compatible, matchmaking would be a horrible idea for CoE.
However, all of the year 1 PoE should be matchmade now. They are super easy, even for a first timer (if there even is such a thing as a first timer anymore). The massive rep boost from killing Skolas might keep us from farming bosses in CoE, and thus allow for matchmaking.

You do realize that the points add up right?

Optional matchmaking.
-
Ok, so why don't we have "Optional Matchmaking" for every activity? Why would we only want it for CoE?
-
You might want to reread our conversation, my FIRST reply to your initial comment was "Optional Matchmaking" To which you replied....
Ok, so why don't we have "Optional Matchmaking" for every activity? Why would we only want it for CoE?
And this is what started our discussion about optional matchmaking.
-
It was a question. I didn't give an opinion in that post. For the record, I want Optional Matchmaking in all activities. I've been asking for it since the first time I couldn't find a team for Atheon. However, since I've been asking so long, I have come to believe that it will never happen. There is a laundry list of things I want that I also don't think will happen. Some of those will stop me from buying Destiny 2, but not this issue.
-
We do want it for every activity, the argument against OM for raids is that their would be too much confusion. CoE is so simple this would not be a problem.
-
Then no. I disagree. So, you get a matchmade CoE. You wan't to get the high score to finish your sigil. The other two people you have been matchmade with want to kill the boss and move on to the next one. Your two competing ideas are not compatible. I've already said this, but it's important. So now, you are basically being trolled by all the matchmade people you are playing with. What is the difference between my scenario, and someone who doesn't know how to do the raid? Either way, the job isn't getting done.
-
Wrong, matchmaking is for those who don't want to use lfg, 99.9 percent of those will be doing the sigil. People who want to burn the boss and farm PoE rep and Exotics will use the lfg more than likely, as to form their own team so there is an understanding thats what they want to do. If the unlikely happens and you don't fill the 90,000, remember that doesn't matter as you can run it as many times as you want, also you only need 1 run to be higher than 30,000, which let's be honest is pretty easy.
-
I hope you get what you want. I'm gonna go in there and kill the boss for you. I farm CoE way more than I try to finish my sigil. With this idea, I won't have to go to LFG. I support this now. Prepare to never finish your sigil.
-
I solo it on all characters, did it both weeks, so don't need your help. Since then I've helped others through. I took a 306 and 307 through last night, they're both 312 now and very grateful. I enjoy helping the community.
-
Omg. How are you going to solo it if there's matchmaking? I'll be there to make sure you never get your sigil done. This argument is getting really stupid. But seriously, I hope you get what you want.
-
OPTIONAL MATCHMAKING, for goodness sake.
-
Since when has anything had "optional matchmaking" in Destiny? The best you can hope for is normal matchmaking, and then you could lfg for your sigil. No activity in Destiny has optional matchmaking. We've been asking for it since day one. It isn't here yet, so your request is silly. You will either get matchmaking or not matchmaking. You will not get optional matchmaking.
-
Just because something isn't in game doesn't mean it's silly. That's what forums are for, to discuss ideas on improvements etc. Optional matchmaking is the best answer when it comes to any form of matchmaking as it serves everyone. If you want to solo, build your own team of friends, find a team on lfg, or just matchmake in with randons, optional matchmaking caters to everyone, so everyone is happy. Drops mic.

We've. Been. Asking. For. Optional. Matchmaking. Since. Day. One. Wake. Up. #weirdestmicdropever
-
We had also asked for a smart loot system since day 1, which we finally got after keeping the pressure on. Anyway you're going off track, can you give a strong argument as to why Optional matchmaking should not be implemented for the PoE challenge mode, you can't, and that's why you keep moving the goal posts. Don't hash tag bro.
-
Editado por Qeylis: 4/25/2016 1:49:51 PMI already gave several. It wasn't me that moved the goal posts, but they were moved by one of us. However, here's one thing that will guarantee that you won't get what you want. When someone drops in mid CoE, they get all the points that have been accumulated up to that moment. So, if you do matchmaking, when someone quits and a replacement is sent in, the replacement will get all the points that the team already has without doing any of the work. Right now, this is a fairly rare situation. But after the TbagYoGrill update, it will be extremely common. How do you think Bungie will react when people get something for doing nothing? I don't want strike randoms in my CoE. I don't want AFKers in my CoE. I don't want competing needs (farming bosses vs completing my sigil) in CoE. There is no such thing as "optional matchmaking", and the OP never said anything about this mythological creature that you used to move the goalposts. Along with my first point, is that strong enough for you? Oh, and I only hashtag when I see someone does something that cracks me up. A mic drop when you didn't really have any good points is hilarious. #hashtagifiwantto #youcantstopme

Bungie have already talked about the idea of possibly adding optional matchmaking for some game modes, so your rambling argument is already out the door. You won't get randoms joining your game when you have matchmaking turned off, do you understand this? So, once again I ask, do you have a counter argument against Optional matchmaking being implemented? Here's my point nicely summed up http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/05/07/everything-in-destiny-needs-matchmaking-yes-everything/#647c11063574

Editado por Qeylis: 4/25/2016 2:27:45 PMDear Tbag, This is a thread about Matchmaking in CoE. Since my argument is against Matchmaking in CoE, it is not rambling nor out the door. Until "Optional Matchmaking" is implemented, my argument against will be correct. Just because Bungie talked about maybe adding it a long time ago, doesn't make it a real thing. When we have Optional Matchmaking in our hot little hands, we can start thinking about where we want to put it. If, IF we ever get this mythological beast, then I want it to be everywhere. My argument was never against "optional matchmaking". I have been a long time supporter of it. But I also know that it will almost certainly never happen, so I have to revert back to what this thread is about. CoE normal matchmaking. I don't want CoE normal matchmaking. Do you finally understand where I'm coming from?
