I'm a generation 1 player of this game that is wondering if anyone on here plays it as well and what they're opinion of the Current State of the game is since they've added Synchro, XYZ, and Pendulum summons to it. My opinion is that XYZ summons ruined the game, and Pendulum summons made it worse. I was fine with Synchro since those can still be easily countered, but a lot of XYZ monsters can only be countered by certain types of card effects or effects that target XYZ specifically. I haven't played against Pendulum yet, but I have seen some duels and I just hate it. No card game should EVER be able to be ended in 2 to 3 turns combined between players. So if there are any other players out there let me know what you think or we can just talk about the game itself if you use to play, but don't anymore.
Edit to clarify my Stance on YuGiOh Generations. Or the Card types in each Generation based off of what I've seen.
Gen 1- Fusions and Monsters with Basic Card Effects.
Gen 2- Rituals with/without effects, Fusions with effects, and Monsters with Basic Card Effects
Gen 3- Ritual/effect, Fusion/effect, Monsters with Chain effects/Summons(GX Gen)
Gen 4- Synchro Summons, Ritual/effect, Fusion/effect, Monster/Chain Effect(5Ds Gen)
Gen 5-XYZ Summons, Syn, Rit/eff, Fus/eff, Mon/C Eff(Zexal Gen)
Gen 6- Pendulum Summons, XYZ, Syn, Rit/eff, Fus/eff, Mon/ C Eff(Arc-V Gen)
I'm fully aware that a lot of these overlap(like the Chain Effects amd chain summons had been around already, but got bigger with GX Gen) and I know that I'm missing a Gen or 2 due to me being out of the game for a few years. If you know of any more let me know.

Yugioh is fine right now, but as usual, when the next set drops, its buy new cards or never win. Reasons why I play MTG and Vanguard.
-
The meta is broken. Pendulums are broken. It's not a good time to get into competitive yugioh. Konami is ruining this game. We need to make Yugioh great again!

1 RespuestaI have a deck waiting to be used, I got all the classics in there, Obelisk the Tormentor, even an ultra rare Wicked Eraser. Oh yeah. But really all it does is show how closely I grip my childhood, never letting it go, knowing I can't return to the days where third wave feminism wasn't ruining the world, when I didn't have to worry that anyone can claim I -blam!- them, immediately ruining my life. It's really just a metaphor for life at this point.

Pendalum is extremely op in my opinion, one turn alone and you can have your whole monster zone filled and with the right combination otk them. I faced such an opponent brought out two xyz monsters one ritual and two synchro monsters. I prefer traditional format, I can handle xyz, or synchro. Yes I still play btw, dislike or spam me with hate posts.

Im okay with some XYZ cards like Photon Papilloperative, tri headed dust dragon, and some others, but Pendulum summon can kiss my ass.

YuGiOh abridged series. Enough said.

1 RespuestaAnd I'm sitting over here, playing MtG...

I think you should look into trying Cardfight Vanguard. Once you learn how the game works and see what decks they have to offer, it can be a fun and intense game. (I play Link Joker decks)

1 RespuestaIt's pretty good, tbh. Especially when you can sell a card for $201.50.
-
Sorry can't say, I'm much much more of a MTG player

3 RespuestasI had a lot of fun on DevPro screwing with pendulum decks by using an old school burn deck. The rage messages were hilarious.

I like it. I also find it funny that with the new movie cards blue eyes has now jumped straight to T1. Will be a shame when they get hit as ive been running blue eyes for months, even before those cards were released

4 RespuestasEditado por ThCrispyBarrett: 4/25/2016 12:51:56 PMThis game has had easy one turn victories since the beginning, but synchro summoning just exacerbated it. I can't go to tournaments anymore because it's just a bunch of elitist 12 year olds all using the same deck, while us older guys are just trying to have fun with decks based around original or novel ideas. I've even had one of these copycats say his deck was better than another guys when I was making small talk and said that I faced another guy with the same deck. I didn't even tell him who. The biggest problem with yugioh is there are too many pricks.

That's why when I go to play I usually play a battle city type duel.
