The Bladedancer. Once, a majestic beast who dominated his territory, this former flame of Destiny has been reduced to the lowly Dreg at the bottom of the Fallen-Food-Chain.
In light of the recent buff to the Voidwalker (That cheap trick of The-All-Salty-Satan), and of the calls for a buff to the Titan class, I thought it necessary to bring back the Bladedancer.
Since the drop of The Taken King, the Bladedaner has been struggling to regain it's place at the top of the food chain. And while I agree that it most certainly should not be as OP as before, it definitely shouldn't be left in it's current state. And for those of you who haven't played as a hunter enough to know the difference, here are some things that got nerfed- Hard- and a few of my own, home cooked remedies for these problems.
[Arc Blade/i]
We all know what it is, we've all been killed by it too many times to count. However, when Bungie's latest and greatest DLC dropped, they nerfed this super into the ground. Hit registration, and enemy targeting are now basically a thing of the past. I'll compare this super to using a sword. In order to kill someone with a sword, you merely need to be in the general vicinity, and it will automatically swipe towards them, and kill them. With the "New Bladedancer", Arc blade rarely kills in one hit, a byproduct of Hit registration glitches. It also will not target enemies above or below you, and sometimes even when they're on the same plain.
Solution?
Restore Arc blade to it's former glory. Bring back year one levels of hit registration and targeting.
ArcBolt Grenade
The ArcBolt. Used to be, this grenade was the go-to for every hunter, especially those using the Thorn/Shotgun Technique (Get thee behind me Satan!). And, in turn, it was nerfed. This is because the grenade would take away an enemies shield, leaving them vulnerable to an easy one shot kill from the Thorn. However, those days are past us, and it's high time the Arc Bolt was a viable grenade again, seeing as now it can't even bring a single enemy down to "Red zone" of health.
Solution?
Nerf the distance and amount of targets that the Arcbolt can chain to. However, substantially increase the damage, until it is at least to where it can bring down the health of a single target to "red zone". In a game with such powerhouses such as the Axion Bolt, Scatter grenade, and Firebolt, the Arcbolt is way out of it's league.
Fleet Footed
The idea of this perk is to make one run faster and slide farther. It's an excellent idea, especially for the class that's supposed to be the Authority on Agility. However, the change difference is hardly noticeable.
Solution?
Increase both sprint speed and Sliding distance by an easily noticable amount, but decrease weapon handling in order to counter any serious PvP advantages.
Hungering Blade
This one, just like hit registration on the Arcblade, is less of a nerf, and more of a glitch, but I feel it needs to be addressed. The "Regeneration" that this perk is supposed to provide, often lags timewise. It comes too late for the wielder to be saved, leaving behind nothing but a super cut short, and a salty hunter.
Solution?
Just fix the darn thing!
Fast Twitch
This perk is supposed to dramatically reduce the cooldown of blink strike. Not that there's anything wrong with it, as a matter of fact, it does it's job. A little too well. With maxed out Strength, your melee will recharge faster than the shield on Crota himself.
Solution?
*And in one great voice, the butthurt desticles cried out* "NERF IT!"
So there it is. All my ideas and idiocies concerning the Bladedancer. What did you think? If you agree, hit the like. If not, let me know why. And, if you think that any other subclasses should be changed, leave a comment which.
TL;DR: Bladedancer sucks. It's basically unusable in PvP, and it's very unreliable. It shoudln't be retunred to the exact same as it was in Year one, but it should definitely be buffed.
Edit 1: Obligatory "Wow, we're trending!" edit
Edit 2: So the common trend in the comments is that Bladedancer, as a whole, isn't that bad. And I mean, I may be wrong, (Just kidding, lol, get gud skrubs) but, it's obvious that there is at least something off with it.
Edit 3: Someone just called me salty. And yeah, I am salty. I hate the stupid Hawkmoon meta soooo much.

I main a Hunter. Bladedancer is a great subclass. It's just the Arc Blade's hit detection. Also, it never got nerfed, just blink & arcbolt grenades(if you consider it a nerf). And fix Blind Strike.
-
Yes please
-
Yes bring back bladedancers

2 RespuestasBest way to use blade dancer nowadays
pop your super in a crowd and spam R2 and pray to RNGesus that it hits someone
-
1 RespuestaThe blade dancer can't kill shit in pve
-
2 RespuestasNot only for pvp, buff it in pve too
-
12 RespuestasEditado por pops: 4/25/2016 8:16:08 PMYou forgot that EVERY other super in the game counters blade dancer...... Blade dancer really needs a buff
-
I agree with this, but I also think sunbreaker and stormcaller should be reverted as well if this were to happen.
-
Or, or we fix the god damn hit detection in the game.
-
True story; I was in a Trials match once with me and the opponent both green bars. They pop arc blade and their first two hits didn't register...I didn't shotgun them because I was so dumbfounded by how sad that was. They could use some improvement on that feature.

19 RespuestasEditado por E-Sentinel: 4/25/2016 11:26:10 PMI don't see the problem. - Skip Gernade is still one of the best nades in the game - QuickDraw is probably the best neutral game perk to exist - Hungering Blade - Ranged Melee with that chance to 1 hit The only problem with the class is the hit registration, which is a problem with all the other classes. nothing needs a buff, they need to fix the hit detection
-
1 RespuestaJust fix BD hit detection and arcbolt range/damage. Everything else is fine
-
Bump for hit detection fix, arc bolt buff and front stab fix
-
I think it may have been stealthily buffed in hit detection in the most recent update. It feels like it has longer range and better hit detection.
-
Bungie does not like blade dancers. It was nerfed hard long before the last update. They want us to use GG and Nightstalker.
-
Editado por Warpsin: 4/25/2016 8:40:58 PMBlade dancer is find where it is. Just fix hit registration and we're good. I mean maybe we work some perks. Quick draw is lame. Fleet footed does have noticeable sliding distance tho. It doesn't need a Buff. The subclass doesn't really need a change at all. Perhaps a buff in pve? Because the super sucks so much. Also buff golden gun and fist of havoc for pve. Because it's sad I have to use two gg shots on a shielded red bar enemies. Increase encore actually. There's no reason to use it over hungering blade. Edit. Fast twitch is fine. It doesn't have a burn or do extra damage like other melees. And with it it's still shorter than some warlock melees so it doesn't really need a nerf.
-
These changes would make Bladedancer even more useless for me. No thanks
-
7 RespuestasI love how hunters think there subclasses should always be the best. It's already stronger than sunbraker just because of blink and the op skip grenade.
-
I agree bladedancer should be buffed but not to the way it was before. It was way to overpowered before , you could tank a rocket.
-
Ummm, no. I do fairly well with my Bladedancer and see no issue with hit detection like everyone claims. My only suggestion is that players stop spamming that right trigger button because that's the biggest issue. To each their own I guess.
-
9 RespuestasNo. All hunters mains are shit. All they do is cry and whine until everything is weaker than them.
-
Maybe not fully restore them but rework ALL melee hit detection
-
3 RespuestasI want to be afraid of bladedance again. Its so boring.
-
3 RespuestasOh Huntards. I hope you know it never was nerfed.
-
Nah. Everyone will just start crying again. Just nerf nightstalker and gunslinger like they did to sunbreaker and we just play.
-
No, just fix hit detection. Fight me
