What's your thought on stay-at-home dads? Where the wife goes to work and supports the family while the dad does the household duties and rearing the kids? Should these sort of dads be ashamed of the role they've take up? Or should thus be admired for it?

Why should someone be ashamed of raising kids and keeping their housework done?

2 RespuestasThey shouldn't be ashamed. Raising children, and taking care of household responsibilities is very tiring and stressful. I don't think that they should necessarily be "admired" by the general public, as it's not something you do for recognition. They should be shown admiration and appreciation by their significant others, as well should any woman who does the same.

They should be ashamed for sure, especially when the kids are above 18 years old (I'm referring to my jobless father)

I personally don't like the idea of a stay at home dad. I think that the woman should stay at home but the man should be the main source of income. I'm really traditional, yes. But, the fact that there are stay at home fathers is showing that certain stereotypes are being broken and that isn't always a bad thing.

My buddy is a stay at home dad and, according to him, he always gets shit from family and friends for being the "woman in the household" and letting his wife (who has a great and successful career) to bring in the money. I personally don't have a problem with it but I though I'd raise the question. I know certain male rights groups who might disagree with the notion of stay-at-home dads

Spoilers on Bungie.net are great for sizing down my comments. Short version: There's always an opposite, even if it may at first look the same.
Juxtaposition exists. Where there is light, there is dark. Where there is man, there is woman. Where one goes to hunt, there is one who stays to guard the home. There's a reason behind a lot of things, people just don't notice them. Besides, they could be playing games, making art with something, making little movies, playing alongside their children... The freedom one could have is > the lack of it that is involved with doing a job, or work, unless it's a unique case in an industry where you enjoy your activity, such as game creation or an aspect of said game's creation.
Listen to the song Stay At Home Dad by Macklemore. It's actually kind of funny
