Stop making gameplay so linear. There should be more advantages to using weapons that aren't snipers in this game. It's mainly fusion rifles that need a significant PVP buff to make them kill more consistently, but they all need improving in PVE. That 100% PVE shotgun damage increase was perfect, and fusion rifles were in a great spot in PVE during vanilla Destiny. What happened?
I hope to see more interesting ways of fighting raid bosses that promote the use of various weapons in the sequel of Destiny. For example, there could be a boss that is vulnerable to being shotgunned in his stomach, or a charging boss that dematerialises after being shot by a fusion rifle enough times and then rematerialises away from you.
I really like how some weapon types are favoured during certain level of POE; it's a good way to promote diversity.

Special weapons are pretty darn balanced aside from sniper rifles. Everyone is nerf crazy on these forums but I think there are so many aspects of sniper rifle mechanics that could be changed, that Bungie has the ability to make very even handed changes without the all out 'nerf' everyone is so fearful of.

2 Respuestasdude fusion rifles destroy... I think they're fine... shotguns too... the real issue is the imaginary game worlds inaccurate understanding of how sniper rifles work..... I know I know it's a game with fusion rifles which are make believe... but sniper rifles are a real thing with real world mechanics that the game industry completely ignore.... quick scoping is not a real thing... I also think snipers should have a reverse damage fall off, for example optimum damage is between 250 and 75 yards, between 74 and 35 yards you get a 25% damage reduction, between 34 and 0 yards you get a 60% damage reduction. What's the idea behind it? the velocity of a snipers bullet is very fast so fast that at 0 yards a bullet from a sniper rifle would travel straight through any target almost cleanly. A bullet going straight through something although I'm sure would be damaging would not be nearly as damaging as a bullet hitting an object with a force that the object will absorb and distribute.

1 RespuestaDestiny is the only FPS with shitty range shotguns. It's pathetic. They are supposed to be lethal from 30-35 yards. Buff them to pre 2.0 stats. Reduce aim assist on snipers, and give us an option to turn it off.

1 RespuestaForget bosses, make more mobs by this. They can die by anything, but are more easily killed by..... Add a fallen enemy, maybe a new shank model, that has a reactove core that will drain your energy if it comes in contact with you. But, fusion rifles completely dissolve it, leaving no harmful gel on the floor. Add a fallen behemoth, that has a weak stomach, and will explode out the back if you shotgun its stomach. Add a vex bot that will teleport every time its hit expect when its by a side arm ADD DIVERSITY BUNGO!

Fusion rifles are great for PvE already. In PvP, people constantly complain that they killed by nothing but specials. If they got buffed, primaries would never get used. It'd be awful.

I understand where you're coming from but I think shotguns are fine where they are, fusions are good, and sidearms are okay Me being a sniper, the nerf wasn't drastic, but not everyone can use a sniper as easily as a shotgun.

They do need improvement in pve but pvp? Many Fusions are decent, many shotguns are decent and sidearms are good. The high rate of fire ones (shotguns, fusions) do kinda need a buff though

They all are pretty bad in pve compared to snipers. Exception would be exotic snipers since they don't technically do more dps -black spindle. sleeper stimulant

Sidearms need a HUGE buff (Like a 200% damage increase) in PvE. They were solely made for PvP which is kind of dumb imo
