Since I've been 335, I've seen way more items drop at 334 than 335. I can understand this for legendary drops, even though I never saw a raid/challenge of elders drop below my light level until hitting 335. As far as exotics, Bungie stated that all exotic engrams will decrypt at our current light level or higher. Well, I'm 335 and I'm getting 334 drops over half the time. I would be ok with this if Bungie said "until you get to 335, at that point the cryptarch still sees you as a 334." Since they didn't, I'm going to assume that this is a bug. This isn't a hot topic yet because not many are 335, but I bet by next week this issue will begin picking up steam. All I ask from Bungie is a clarification on this. Is this working as intended or is this a bug? I know it's not a big deal and 334 is still pretty damn good, but since they never mentioned this, I didn't appreciate the surprise. During their Twitch stream, when the guy (who was 335 light) got his weapon from Variks, it was 335, not 334. Most of my rewards from Variks have been 334. I just feel like we should have been informed about this if this is truly how it is supposed to work. TLDR: Bungie guaranteed that exotics will decrypt at our current light level or higher. I guess that covers this situation. I'm not mad, I was just surprised to see 334s when I'm 335. I thought I knew what to expect after reading Cozmo's post. Anyway, if our biggest problem with exotic engrams is that some will decrypt at 334 when we're 335 then I think things are pretty good. I understand why it's this way. 335 would be way too easy if it wasn't. I just like to know what to expect.
