Where is the story going?

Right on the back of the box it says, "destiny is rich with cinematic story telling." So I ask what story and where is it going? I'm tired of the hive "story line." I want our story line. I want to know about the Traveler and the actual darkness. Because I honestly feel so detached from the world. Sure collecting loot can be fun but that's seems like all the game is. The story is none existent. Collect loot and make your guardian look like a pimp. Is that "rich storytelling"? They need to focus on the serious subjects. Like what is the traveler, how do we fix, what is the darkness, who is the stranger, what happens when all the ghosts disappear? Instead of "you killed oryx' son so he's salty. Go kill him twenty times to get loot guardian. I've played destiny for 15 days from day one and if some one asks me what's the story, I can only tell them there ain't one. There is no rich cinematic story telling. Edit: Seems like a good handful of you people say "just go read the Grimoire cards!" Allow me to ask you this. Do you read books? Do you get excited that your favorite author who has an impressive line of previous books is releasing another book. So you preorder this book and you finally get the novel. But this impressive heart wrenching story that your where promised is absent. Chopped up into tiny pieces and scattered into vague cards you have to discover. Some of them you never will. The Grimoire cards should be a small bonus to an already impressive story. Not 95 percent of the story. Edit 2: Wow this post has been trending for a couple days know with almost a 100 comments and likes. I wonder where is Cosmo to say he will add our requests for a better story to the wish list

  • Bungie had Joseph Staten, the new York times best selling author, who is responsible for building much of the halo universe, write destiny's story. Management didn't like it, so they chopped it up, and rearranged everything, less than a year before launch. The "story" in game is what we're left with. No wonder it's such a joke. Typical bad management, not trusting the employees to do the job they were hired to do, and thinking they know better.
