This boss fight was one of the least satisfying in the entire series, I didn't even smile when I beat him.
-the boss is just an accumulation of every attack type and weapon there is in the game
-you are forced to play in a certain way, there aren't multiple viable ways to defeat him
-the entire boss fight is just a roll fest and trying to use as few heals as possible
-the boss fight is decided by randomness and luck ( I only won because he did not do any one hit attacks/combos and a message was rated)
Every boss in the game was a first or maybe second try for me except for Old Demon King and the storm dude (don't know the English name) but that was due to the bad camera, this boss just sucks.
Ps: yeah I'm salty
Anyway, what do you think about this boss or the bosses generally in the game? I feel like there were very few average bosses, some were really good and some sucked. I'm not a fan of gimmick fights though (for example the wyvern in archdragon peak)

1 RespuestaLore-Wise, this boss is the best. All of the Souls who linked the Fire turned into one being, those who sacrificed themselves to prolong the Age of Fire. And when it gets weakened, it uses the most powerful Soul. Gwyn's. Hands-down, best boss Lore-Wise.

1 Respuesta
Well, the fight is essentially supposed to be a standoff with the chosen undead from the first dark souls game. It shows how the first hero has become a slave to the flames, as he desperately struggles against you to preserve a fading power. His attacks are reminiscent of the movesets of the player character, with twists on them. The boss uses everything from a greatsword to magic. Then, halfway through the fight, everything changes. He kindles himself and takes on the persona of a shared consiousness, that of course being Gwyns. While he does have many of Gwyn's moves, I think the fight also reflects the lords true power that our previous player never got to fully witness. He hurls lightning spears at you, and even rains them down upon you from the heavens. As for it being gimmicky? I don't think so. Apart from when he spews poison ( which is weird for a fire/themed boss) the ideas behind the fight work pretty well. His moveset is both alien and familiar. I also don't get what you mean by the fight being RNG. All his attacks are avoidable if you're good enough. And no, repeating combos don't count. I managed to beat him on my third attempt using a greatsword that took most of my stamina per attack. The fight had brilliant music, scenery and just the right mix of nostalgia to make it quite a spectacle. This is all my opinion of course.

Tldr op is salty
1 RespuestaI've liked all the bosses I've fought apart from Aldrich and soul of cinder. Aldrich felt like a bit of a cheap fight to me and cinder just pisses me off every time I go to fight him. Puts a damper on the whole game for me.

3 RespuestasI have to disagree. The fact that he uses multiple styles is both refreshing from a pure combat perspective and a very nice throw at the community from a lore perspective. He's literally a boss composed of everyone whosever linked the fire. Soloed him on my 3rd try with a quality build. And I know people who've beaten him as a pure caster. So no. You're not pigeon holed into a certain style when fighting him, Gwyn was an okay fight. How they set it up was fantastic. But combat wise he's a joke to anyone who can parry. Nashandra is boring all around. She's fully aware she can't take the throne but attacks you anyway. It was a nice touch that she actually casted things and made use of the room by throwing up curse orbs. But curse just lowers your health and stops at a certain point. Plus you can just purge stone mid fight and get the health back if you need to. She sucked hard at meleeing. I beat her on my first try on my very first run through of the game. Can't speak on demon souls. And bloodborne was probably the second best for final boss. I shouldn't have to even state why. I feel ds3 has the best final boss though.
