Look at the playtime I have on my warlock, then ask yourself why you didn't bother to do so before you replied. The only place Nova Bomb was half decent was in the beginning of Crota's end. Most of the time in PvE you're looking for large groups of red mobs to super on because Nova Bomb doesn't kill majors.

I've never had an issue with killing majors with mine (even in the raids), hence the comment. I don't hold my super. I generate orbs, even if it's not the max amount. With OM, I know full well that I'll have it back in a matter of moments anyways.

Imo you shouldn't need to lead with a rocket or any prior damage with a super like Nova Bomb, FoH, etc. just to kill majors. The fact of the matter is, few supers in PvE actually feel [b][i]super[/i][/b], Nova Bomb being no exception. Also, the orb output for Radiance and Stormtrance are both drastically higher than Nova Bomb

Where did I say I had to lead with damage in order to kill a major with a Nova Bomb? If it was such a shitty super to use against them, how did you (or anyone for that matter) complete the part of the Voidwalker quest that requires you to make 7 orbs? NB isn't that great against ultras, but none of the supers are. It'll definitely take out a major, though. And since we've got OM, I can guarantee that I'll have my super back well before any other class will.

Anyway if you have Nothing Manacles two scatter grenade charges do more damage than than Nova Bomb.
