This is absolutely infuriating.
I'm sick and tired of my teamates either leaving their characters in the game to get free loot without doing any work, or quitting prematurely for me to have to slave an activity by myself (Mainy strikes and Crucible).
Here are some changes I recommend. If you agree with them, please support this post:
1) Absolutely slaughter idle time. Black Ops 3 nailed this concept PERFECTLY. If you are gone for more than 2-3 minute, the game kicks your player. Absolutely no more then that. Also, rubberbanding controllers no longer should be a thing.
2) If you leave a quit on a losing team or leave a strike that is not half way over, you are given a first offence warning. This also includes the minute idle timer.
If you commit a second offence within a certain time stamp, you are banned from the specified ACTIVITY for a small amount of time (An hour or so) so you can "Cool off", as the message would say.
If you continue to leave matches after this second offence and temporary restriction, you will now be banned from the activity until the weekly reset.
If you continue to not heed any of the previous warnings and are a nuissance to the gaming expirience of others, your account will be locked out of the activity until notified in the future. After that, matchmaking for that activity will be lengthened as you will be attempted to be placed with guardians with low light levels and/or exhibit similar behavior.

A "dunce meter" is now added next to every players name on the forums and is required on all LFG sites. Depending on how many offences you comit, the meter will show others what kind player you are in the aspect of either quitting prematurely, or being idle on multiple occasions. If you manage to reach the bottom of the dunce meter, a snarky comment is now tagged to the end of their gamertag on any of these websites. Beautiful.

IMO, these consequences aren't even strict enough.

RID THIS COMMUNITY OF FILTH.
Edit:
Post below on how friendly players should be rewarded.
Maybe their Dunce meter can say:
"This Guardian is a legend"
Edit: For all the pessimists saying "I have a life, Children, etc," this system IS NOT SUPPOSED AFFECT YOU.
It's supposed to affect and apply consequences to people who are constantly interfering with the gaming expirience of others. Think of it like this-
That guy you just abandoned during that strike, what if he also has a life just like you (as hard at it is to believe). You're saying your life is more important then the one you just abandoned? That person, for your information, probably also has children, a life, and other duties to attend to. Maybe they only get an hour a day and you are wasting that precious time! At least they have their priorities straightened!
If you need to answer the Pizza guy at the door, that's cool and all. Have a child to take care of? Beautiful.
However, if this is constantly interferring with the lives of others who are just as busy as you and only have a set amount of time to play, then you should recieve the consequences for your actions.
Saying that "I have a life so I have the right to abandon the precious time of others," is Brazen.
Can't handle the time? Don't commit the crime.

1 RespuestaDude...maybe dial it back a few notches. If you have such a problem with quitters maybe try this wonderful new thing called playing with your friends.

8 Respuestas30 seconds?
real gamers pee in bottles?
They can't do that until they can distinguish a disconnect due to an error code from going to orbit or turning off your system.

1 RespuestaMuted for immense stupidity and insensitively, doltish sadistic dumbass-ness. I am soo glad that your psychotic ass isn't on play station, or else I would've jumped into upcoming traffic.

This should not be included in pvp sense the mercy doesn't work well, but in the game paragon of you leave you can't start another game until that one is over. So if you. Actually have to go there isn't really a penalty, however if you are just leaving to leave you will be banned until the strike is over
-
Seems ok but harsh as well. Reason why is you can't blame somebody for error codes or crappy internet connections. Second, they could be doing something urgent that would cause them to go afk. If they do it frequently, I can understand but for now, just report them. Bungie will know how frequent that happens and they will take action.
-
I will quit if no one on my team in control don't help and play like the game mode is clash lol
-
Except, just like with Trials of Osiris, error codes would also count towards "quitting" and would result in the temporary bans you are suggesting. Am I to blame for the occasional days my internet is slow , or for when Bungie's servers screw up? No, thank you. There should be a vote to kick option.
-
It's pixels on a screen. Stop taking it too seriously.
-
Make it cost glimmer to quit. Too many quits in x amount of time = 15 minute cool down. Halo 3's concept to penalize quitting was fine. Some type of penalty and a time out for too much quitting. And if you aren't a habitual quitter it doesn't affect you that much.

9 RespuestasNo. Not signed. Anti-signed. As long as Destiny keeps sending me to the same strikes one after another, I reserve the right to quit without consequence. As long as the damn Warsat is randomly impossible with random teammates, I reserve the right to quit without consequence. If I see someone who is not playing, by using the rubber band trick or standing still, I reserve the right to quit without consequence. If this post was about AFKers, I'm all in. F those guys. But quiting is legit in a lot of circumstances, and should not be punished at all, in any way.

Or we could just give bonus reputation and rewards to strike teams where a guy left and never rejoined

Lol diseases and illnesses do not exist in your bubble huh?

If I'm on the losing team and I'm doing shitty, it's probably my fault, I will stay and I will try to do better. If I'm on the losing team and it's essentially a 1v6, I will leave. Everytime. 3v3s? Skirmish team stealing our heavy or feeding the enemy team the whole game without getting kills, im out. Elimination team resing each other or myself in front of a sniper w/o a push.. multiple times in a row? Bye bye. And last but not least.. CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, SALVAGE. That one teammate who just has to get his bounty done, so he runs out, caps by himself, die and immediately gives the enemy team lots of juicy points. That's an immediate back out. I literally don't play salvage outside of a 3 man.

Please do the community a favor and slit your wrists then do a handstand.

7 RespuestasSo what if an emergency came up, or your dinner you started is ready, or someone comes to your door, or you know everyday occurrences of everyday life? I understand people quitting can be annoying I quit two games today because one match my team in Control I believe thought we were playing Clash, and the other was because we lost 4 times in a strike and my team mates poofed. Try to understand though that, in very simple terms, shit happens.
