destiny is the least competitive shooter out so why is there a competitive section at all?
Is it because Bungievision want their casual fanbase to feel more important?
Please put down your Red Bull and Doritos and discuss it amongst yourselves.
Video echoes my reaction upon discovering a competitive section for destiny.
4 RespuestasCould be competitive if they put private matches. The would also have to establish a base set of rules regulating what can and can't be used but it can be done.
-
It's what you make it. Almost anything can be made to be competitive.

Bungie has in no way shape or form advertised a mlg sort of competitive scene for this game. The sort of competition that exists is something the community created.
-
They definitely labelled it "competitive" to placate that demographic. Reality is Destiny is anything but competitive. It's casual multiplayer shooting at it's finest.
-
Hahaha. Competitive video game players are a joke. Put down the red bull and go outside you basement dwelling, ass jockies.

Depends what way you mean competitive? Because any pvp game can in some way be "competitive". Destiny PvP is competitive in the sense that people play against each other to win and there is "some" standard of balance in a casual way. BUT if your talking about actual multiplayer tournaments, MLG, ESL, custom/private matches then no it's not balanced, has a lack of features and the fact Destiny is only 30FPS for FPS Shooter, then no it's not competitive in that nature. Destiny PvP is a casual multiplayer shooter, there is a decent community who try to make it into something better and more competitive but still won't go anywhere with the lack of features this game has for pvp. I personally enjoy the pvp and will most probably keep playing it for quite some time. I'm also waiting for Overwatch which looks awesome

4 RespuestasIt's competitive in trials and it means pvp in general. I like how you block your accounts

7 RespuestasI don't know, man - I mean, I "get" that Halo likes to hype the competition, and I get that MLG is continuing to elevate past novelty and into "sport," but the only real difference is scoring and ranking - what I mean by that is simply that there's nothing mind-blowing about Halo to make it "more competitive" - its designed to be more simple, and easier to quantify talent as separate from loot and loadout. That said - I think it would be relatively easy for Bungie to create a competition game type. Normal Crucible already eliminates light level, so that evens the playing field; you'd just need to take it a step further and keep weapons/armor/ability choices to a minimum to make personal and team performance easier to quantify. Am I off-base here? If you were just Destiny-bashing, then rock on, lol - its just that I enjoy the mechanics of Destiny way more than Halo. It would be fun to see what a MLG game type might look like.

They need to add clan play lists and let clans face each other. Instead of a clan going up against randoms. I know in trials you form you own fireteam but still nothing close to being competitive

6 RespuestasGood to see you round these parts again bane.
keep it up. :)
If it includes junk food and harsh insults and whining, it is competitive multiplayer
-
And CoD is? It isn't even about gun skill, whoever sees he other first wins, also any game where a rocket launcher and a pistol are in the same category deserves to die.
-
I feel like trials is pretty competitive. Would be nice if they took that aspect and went further with it.

5 RespuestasEditado por SquidGuy: 4/18/2016 8:58:41 AMDefinition of competitive:
of or relating to a situation in which people or groups are trying to win a contest or be more successful than others : relating to or involving competition
Are you saying that people are trying to win more in Halo than other FPS games? I am just trying to understand the statement. I couldn't care less about which game is better or more competitive. I know what I enjoy, and that's all that matters. Also, why do you spend so much time posting on Destiny's forums when you hate Destiny? I greatly dislike Halo 5, but I am not constantly over there talking about non-halo games.
-
Anything can be competitive. This is so -blam!-in stupid when people rag on this game because "it's not competitive" That doesn't mean people who are really good at the game can't play against each other in a competitive manner. No it's not e sport and yes there are balance issues but still there are a tier of players who enjoy the game and like playing against each other for the competitive nature

2 RespuestasEditado por THE SARGE 01: 4/18/2016 7:52:52 PMFilthy Casuals? Only filthy casuals, such as yourself, hide their profiles. BTW, that gameplay looked horrible. I don't care how competitive a game is, because my reason for gaming is purely enjoyment. Based on that gameplay, my levlel of enjoyment would be zero based on the fact that it lookes like TTK is .0001 seconds. Also, aside from the fact that the players seem to have been shooting each other with laser guided munitions, is there a way to not hear your owns steps? That was pretty annoying.
