Before the update I would finish the raid on reset day or day or two later. Those days most players with experiance in the raid are playing so joining a random group was not an issue. Doing the raid in the weekend would mean more mistakes, more wipes, longer finishing time.
After the update new players have easier time getting high level gear so inviting players based on light level is a double edged sword. Now its harder to find good players on refresh day.
Same happened after HoW and CE raid. Suddenly you were playing with raid nubz and wiping in places you didn´t think was possible.
Yesterday I joined a random group on my oryx checkpoint. In theory it should only take about 15 min to finish but o'boy. A kid joined us with around 317 light and was like "yeah I know the raid" & "and I know what i´m doing"
But after mistake after mistake and then him finally admitting that he had never finished Oryx before, I was suppricingly calm when I booted him from the fireteam.
I´m not a person that does that. I remember when I was low light and wanting to finish oryx for the first time. I finished Oryx on hard for the first time when my hunter was 305, got kicked from couple of groups just because of my light level but when a group accepted my skills instead of focusing on light, finishing was a breeze.
After playing with that kid yesterday I´m going to do things differently, if you are high light and lie about your knowledge of the raid, you are getting kicked. Two mistakes and your out. Plain and simple.
Edit: Read my post again and I really look like an asshole but to clarify:
If you lie about your knowledge and skill and make a whole group wipe over and over again, you can't expect NOT to get kicked.

Im not even going to bother with kings fall i havent ran it in months and now that exotics can decode at max level and the lighthouse gives you armor and a weapon i can just rank up through pvp
-
You were in the right. I would have kicked him too.

1 RespuestaI just did my first raid last night. Its surprisingly easy when there's someone there who can explain things well. We only needed to do oryx 3 times with 2 newbies.

17 RespuestasEditado por BLACK KNIGHTSo1: 4/16/2016 2:35:11 PMIt's funny how some people develop a god complex with these raids. To kick or not to kick. Maybe he lied because so many people are elitist and won't let him play. Put yourself in his position. Experienced raiders had to have started somewhere. It's a cause and effect scenario. If there weren't so many elitists blocking people from raiding , people wouldn't have to lie to get in one. Please get over yourself. This is the reason why only a small percentage raids . Not because people don't want to , it's because of elitists blocking and kicking people and word of mouth makes or break a business (in this case raiding). We always hear on the forums from pve players complaining about pvp players ruining Destiny. But elitist pve players are ruining the game also on their own way. Both sides are equally responsible. I got turned off to raids early on not because of the raid itself but because of the type of people who play in raids. This is changed my perception of pve in general .

2 RespuestasI'm not going to lie. I haven't done VoG CE KF or any raid. I have zero experience in Raids, apart from Solo attempts that end in failure. My Hunter is a 303 light. Why haven't I completed a Raid? Elitists, they're everywhere and no one seems to care. One day maybe they'll give me a break.
-
I can't stand kids like that.
-
4 RespuestasDude I kick everyone out. No remorse. You are all replaceable. Be good or get the boot. I'm requesting people with 50 plus completions now so.
-
2 RespuestasTldr this crap
-
Then you should really add me. I hate that crap and well worth investing a long term raid team with.
-
2 RespuestasIf you were a more welcoming group he may not have felt he needed to lie.

Once I was doing hard totems, then a kid (I hate him so much) joined our party chat and cried because he wanted to join. One of my friends had to go away for some minutes, so he joined. He always died and said to my teammates stuff like :"Stop dying, you suck !". Then, when my friend came back, I kicked him and removed him from my friend list. Recently he invited me in his party chat and said :"Hey Ciude, now I'm really strong, I have Scarab (one of my friends told me that he got carried), I completed Oryx and many more things. Can we be friends again ?" I answered :"You talked shit about my raid team. Piss off."

Preach. If you aren't truthful about it and are gonna weigh down people that actually know what they're doing, get kicked scrub

4 RespuestasYou can make all the edits you want bud you are still an elitist who doesn't wanna play with noobs, which is exactly what you were when this raid came out... It has nothing to do with him lying so don't try to say that's why you kicked him or you would have said it in the first place, not in an edit... You got on the forums and qq in this long rant of yours that basically is about you bitching that now it's harder to distinguish between a "noob" and a "vet". You are the reason people hate lfg, you also deserve whatever salt was thrown your way. Don't try and make yourself out to be less of an asshole in an edit.
-
4 RespuestasYou sound like a douche bag. I'm glad I don't have to rely on lfg and put up with crap like this.
-
Your spelling hurts me.
-
Another problem is differing strategies. My friends and I always kill the Sisters in two rounds and we had this kid that didn't think that was possible so asked about doing three rounds....we finished quite nicely in two. Then with Oryx, we always run 4 blights at a time (we've never attempted the challenge) so when a player asked about doing 8 or 16, I mentioned that we've never tried that and weren't comfortable trying that time around....thankfully he was cool with that.

2 RespuestasOne. I don't lie about my light. Two. I do know what to do on everything but details are fuzzy on oryx. I always get confused on which plate is what number

Lol it never ends.

5 RespuestasThere's a place for noobs. It's the Destiny Sherpa subreddit. I took a break from Destiny to play Fallout 4. So when I came back, I didn't know the raid. Had never been past the totems. So I went to that subreddit and had an awesome experience and learned everything about the raid. Don't lie to lfg groups to get in. If anything be honest. Tell them your new to the raid and they might just surprise you.
-
I do the same if you straight up lie bout how much experience you have its obv and you deserve a kick
-
Thats why i don't give a -blam!- about light in lfg,( as long as its not dramatically low). But what i do ask for is competence.
-
Honestly, I agree with you OP. I use to go through the same thing in trials and raids posting on LFG. I don't wanna spend 2+ hours on one part all bc some guy sucks and hasn't beaten it. That's why there are Sherpas, don't lie about doing something when you haven't done it.
-
3 RespuestasI agree with you to a degree. Really though, how does one not know kings fall raid by now and all of its nuances?
-
You thought light level filtered out good and bad players? Ahahahahahahahahahah
