OVERVEIW:
I'm just here as a Void walker main since year one thinking, "were the buffs too much" and "are they going to get retooled later on? " The answer is no.
I mean Strikers got a huge buff last update and became extremely good with their melees and perks being reworked just like the void walker.
Voidwalkers now get their grenades back very soon after using them due to the buffed energy drain effect. While their grenades are not on lightning grenade level, at least strikers don't get to continuously spam their grenades.
This is point is further pushed with the new found viability of the energy drain build.Where you get your grenades even quicker.
Now that isn't the only new thing about them, although it doesn't activate on hit anymore, the improved embrace the void perk now gives you your health back. Not only do you get your health back from grenade kills, but also super kills.
Last but not least, they made it so all of the melee perks activate on hit. Almost as if they incorporated the ram perk in to the subclass its self. That is the end of the subclass changes.
Speaking of exotics, like the ram, nothing manacles where brought back to its former glory and it further pushes the effectiveness of the class. Also, with the ram you will be able to have two different melee abilities activate without having to kill your opponent.
MY THOUGHTS:
I think that it is fine that you can get your health back from your grenades and super, as other subclasses are able to do the same thing. I even think that the community will learn to live with that fact the Voidwalker's melee abilities activate on hit. However, the community might start to complain about how fast they are able to get their grenade and super. Bungie tried to improve their effectiveness by providing them new and improved abilities that restore health , that is fine other classes have that. Despite that I feel the buffs were
necessary. The class was very well Balanced before, but it kind of needed something to push it over the edge.
The way I see it, Voidwalkers are the warlock equivalent of the titan's striker class. Both subclasses that while good on their own , needed something to increase its usage and make it even more viable in the meta game.
However It is still very balanced and not as overpowered as people make it out to be.
For those you take the time to read my post I thank you.
Edit: I changed little things to make my point a little more clear.

1 RespuestaI'm a void main who hasn't played the update yet. Good read.
-
The changes are really only good for pve. I mean they're great for pvp but they have the most power in pve

46 RespuestasI like how after class buffs people are always like " at least warlocks/titans are as good as hunters now..". Do you not realize hunters are garbage? Bladedancer is COMPLETELY broken at this point. Worst class in the game now. Gunslinger is decent where it's at. Nightstalker is ok besides tether taking 2 years to activate. VW was decent, sunsingers were already top tier in pvp. Stormcaller were op. So while I do agree with a VW buff I feel they buffed it way too much. It's absolutely op now even though people will defend it. I don't even care about a buff for my class (bladedancer ) but you should probably fix something that's actually broken before you "fix" something thats not.

2 RespuestasHave you tried using your Voidwalker with Nothing Menacles in the CoE this week? OMG, is all I have to say.
-
Editado por Insatiable: 4/23/2016 1:20:56 PMStill rarely ever see voidwalkers in trials so that goes to show you it's fine. I'm the only one I usually see each week with exception of one or two others. So I'm happy I always mained the void since I got the game and don't want everyone else to be using it :)

4 RespuestasIf you hadn't said strikers got a huge buff, I'd have believed the rest lol.
-
5 RespuestasLol look at OP's stats
-
1 RespuestaWHERE ARE YOU VOIDWALKERS!!!??!?! I LIKE NEVER SEE U IN PVP LOL
-
4 RespuestasThought melee's only proc on hit if you're using the ram. Otherwise only when your melee is charged. There would be no use for the ram if what you said were true
-
3 RespuestasI'm fine with it all but I would add ONE thing Let us shoot axion bolts to destroy them! In the heat of a battle it's almost impossible to do but when someone throws one from far it would help us avoid running around the map for 20 minutes just to let it expire.
-
4 RespuestasReading "I'm just here as a Void walker main since year one", really makes me think otherwise.
-
Until the other day i always found voidwalker the most boring of the three, do like whats been done to it and fi d it quite balanced. Very well said!
-
The changes made me want to use Voidwalker exclusively, but I've been using Sunsinger personally. I've been testing out Solar Wind and Song of Flame with little success....
-
People don't complain about Striker. So there is really no need to complain about Void Walker. The energy drain gets frequent grenades but the voidwalker grenades aren't the best (Excluding NM Scatter Nades) unlike Lightning grenades which are definitely the best raw grenade. I really like the changes. I see less sunsingers since people feel confident in Voidwalker now. I can't complain.
-
What you fail to mention is that the grenade comes back almost instantly, I don't believe that was an intended effect.
-
19 RespuestasThe fact is you need your grenade to kill in order for energy drain to activate (easy for Pve not so much PvP)
-
1 RespuestaSounds like some magazine cover...
-
1 RespuestaI think void walkers are very balanced now. Their super isn't op. Their nades aren't that strong (but now we get them more) and the melee just heals or helps get the super (it's nice but not powerful). All these combined create a fun, balanced subclass that is great throughout the entire match
-
4 RespuestasIt's gonna get nerfed and that's sad
-
6 RespuestasHave you tried Skull of Ahamkara after the update?
-
7 RespuestasAs a voidwalker main to another voidwalker main, how can you complain about them FINALLY giving us a neutral game. For so long we've been uncompetitive, especially with the Nova Bomb inconsistencies, and blink being destroyed. Axion grenades aren't OP, neither are scatter grenades, and who uses vortex? It's not like we're churning out fire bolt grenades or golden gun level supers, were still the most balanced class in the game.

1 RespuestaToo much to read smh.
-
1 RespuestaI can't seem to get the nothing manacles :(
-
Lost me after I found out there was a paragraph to read.

My opinion: I like it.
