Basically I am extremely excited for Uncharted 4, but apparently I am a "fake fan" because I didn't have the previous three games on release. I did not get a PS3 until 2015, but I did buy all three Uncharted games for it and loved them so much that I went ahead and bought the Nathan Drake collection for PS4.
My friend seems to think I am a "fake fan" and just riding the bandwagon because he was there from the start and I was not. The funny thing is, I could probably beat him in a quiz about Uncharted despite him being a real fan.
It doesn't bother me too much as I know that I am a huge fan of the series and the developers... I just wanted to post on here since you are all gamers and my friends on Facebook or in real life probably do not know what a gamer is.
Thank you :-)

Yes you can , if you play Witcher 3 and then decide to play the other two and get the same amount of enjoyment and then decide to play them all again in order , why not.

Editado por ItsJackAttack: 4/15/2016 6:43:21 PMAbsolutely. Take Harry Potter, for example. I know tons of people who were born after the first few books were published, and they're massive fans, like myself. Also, your friend here reminds me of someone I used to be friends with. He acted like he knew EVERYTHING, and countered everything I said with some BS nonsense that he claimed to do research on. He seemed to be enlightened by some ridiculous self-made concept. I told him I was doing my job very well on a group project, and he launched himself into an argument about how it's not a job if you don't get paid. I ditched him and didn't regret it.

I think you still can be a "big fan". I've been with Dark Souls from the start, but never bothered beating 2 or Bloodborne.
-
Absolutely. If you enjoy a game, then... well, you enjoy the game!

-
Yeah I recently just got an Xbox 1 last summer with halo MCC on it and I think it's my favorite game series
-
Definitely! I'm a big MGS fan (except The Phantom Pain!) but I'm a bit young to have been around for the original Metal Gear Games haha. The hours I've spent on wiki and the like *shudders..* I think I'm a true lover of that title lol

2 RespuestasOf course, I'm a monster hunter fan but I only recently got into the newer games ,amongst other examples

Fact: Yes

Well, if you were excited for Uncharted 4 when you haven't played the others that's different but as long as you have played the others in a series then I think you are fine. You could play the whole series a few days before release but I wouldn't care, I'd me surprised that you hadn't played them before but other then that you're fine. The people telling you that you aren't 'real fans' are just being elitist, too elitist.

It doesn't matter when you were exposed to the games, if you enjoy them, you are a fan. End of story. Don't worry what anyone else says. Also, U4 is gonna be great. I hope Chloe makes a comeback. She was a badass.

1 RespuestaAbsolutely.

1 RespuestaEditado por Sapphire: 4/14/2016 5:52:35 AMAbsolutely. The first Mass Effect game I played was Mass Effect 3. Not long after, I bought Mass Effect 1 and 2. I've probably done like 7 or 8 playthroughs of the series now. It is my favourite series of games.
My fandom for the game even had me create a roleplaying account on Twitter for a while...
1 RespuestaLook at Halo. Many people haven't been there from the start who've helped destroy the series.
-
Of course.
-
I'd certainly say so. You can be born long after a band, composer or artist becomes famous and still be a "big fan". Why would games work any differently?
-
Of course you can. You're friend just likes to gloat and stuff because he liked it first.
-
Yes you can.
-
I think so
-
1 RespuestaI guess...provided you go back and play the older titles? I mean I know a fair few who started Halo on3/Reach and yet consider themselves big fans wether or not they've played the previous game or read into the lore.
-
Of course you can
-
As long as you catch up with everything and learn the positives and negatives before you start preaching about them
-
Tell your friend to go -blam!- himself lol
