So, when HoW dropped, we had the most variety in armor and the most unique looking Guardians we could imagine. All because of the beautiful item known as Etheric Light. I fully understand why the weapons were locked at 170 light. Though it could have been solved if a more complex solution was done, they were overpowered and they are directly responsible for your performance. But armor? We use armor for performance very little. Exotics are the only ones we put high performance value on. Intellect, Discipline, Strength, and more ammo hardly affect how we play. It's a very minor change. Overall, if you 170 locked the armor because of perks like Heavy ammo increase, why not just change that to a one time, "choose one heavy weapon type perk"? More ammo, faster reloads, and ability cooldowns are kind of important to us and the gameplay, but are very secondary concerns. You can play fine without them. We value armor primarily for appearance. Making our Guardians look how we like is both something you advertised and something we expect. It's how we set each other apart. How we express ourselves. How we have fun. Ever notice how a Youtuber or Streamer can rarely be represented by the armor they wear? Artwork of them, or thumbnails for videos depicting them is something that is ever changing or nonexistent. This problem is the reason why. There is very little of an outlet to define an appearance for yourself. Those who value it most, like myself, may still have our old, outdated armor. I still wear what looks best when in the Tower and in Crucible, but it sucks that I have to change just to play anything in PVE. I and many others just want to look how we like, so why not bring Etheric Light back for armor? Or why not have the Vendors rotate stock every week so they sell one DLC's Vanguard armor and another the next week? Why not update the old Raids? Why not make the beginning character customization screen for your Guardian's face and race always accessible? The solutions are there and numerous. We just need them to be a reality.
