How did your "gjallahorn moment" go?
How did you and/or your friends react when you finally got that one item you were after or when you finally got something like the Gjallahorn or Hawkmoon?
Here's mine:
[spoiler]I finally got my hunter to level 20 (second character and it took me forever to get off my Titan and work on my hunter) so I was ecstatic. I had some hunter gear already so I used them on him and he got to light 26, my fireteam were on shortly after and we decided to run a VOG normal so I could increase my light, having run the raid through hard on my Titan many times and not getting much I barely expected anything. The raid went well and we beat the templar (honestly don't remember if I got anything) and it was about 4 or 5 am for me at the time and I was ready to go to bed, I thanked my team and told them I'd leave. (We were 4 and they could easily finish the raid without me) but they told me to stay for the "exotic" chest so I did. First time we opened it I was on my hunter and I got the cloack (which I was so happy about). Then we all switched characters and I switched to my Titan and hoped I would get the class item (really wanted it). From the 4 of us 2 had gjallahorns already so one of them said he felt someone would get something good and the two with gjallahorns "blessed the chest" by shooting it with their gjallahorns. Remember this is VoG normal and it was the night before reset so we didn't mind opening the chest on normal which had a lower exotic droprate. First my friend (who also didn't have gjallahorn) got red death and we laughed a bit because we thought my friends prediction came true and then it was my turn, I wanted the class item but expected nothing. When I opened the chest I noticed two items dropped and I had a feeling the top one was an exotic and then I got the Gjallahorn and I swear I stared at it for a good second confused then my friends started screaming and laughing and I started laughing but there were tears in my eyes and it was my first ever proper drop in an online game so I was super happy and felt so hyped. Probably my best memory in this game ever. I went to bed soon but couldn't sleep because of how hyped I was. It was also the first time I reacted to pixels on a screen :p
Tl;dr: I got Gjallahorn on vog normal chest which had a low droprate and reacted.[/spoiler]

Did crota hard mode hoping to get the crux beat him nothing someone in the fire team said someone got gally I didn't care I didn't get the crux went to orbit gally was in my inventory and my reaction was meh

First one I got my friend screamed so loud on the mic I couldn't hear for a bit. By the time Kings fall came around, I had 7 in total drop. I wasn't liked by a few people for awhile haha

Crucible, Rusted Lands in Control. I was by the special ammo crate in the small room by C flag. I remember when the game ended, I couldn't believe my eyes when those three glorious words appeared. After minutes of bawling my eyes out, somebody joined my Fireteam. I rubbed my eyes trying to see through the tears. [quote]SmoggyPluto has joined your Fireteam[/quote] I remember feeling confused. Who was this SmoggyPluto? What did he want? I hear him through game chat. "A blue rocket launcher? I don't think so." I looked into my inventory to see that my blue rocket had changed. I beat the death singer first week of Crota hard. I got it. Smiled. That's it.

Got mine from a legendary engram just before the release of TDL expansion. Was never expecting it to be honest.

Ya see when I got the G-horn I had no idea what an exotic was, and I hated rocket launchers. Xür had just sold it and I thought that it was given to everybody so I vaulted it. Three months later I finally found out that it was actually good and not given to everybody... I flipped my shit that u had the bust gun in the game.

Disbelief after it dropping on a hard crota after some 700 hrs.

I got it at roughly 110 hours after a regular crucible match in which my K/D was .40[spoiler]Come at me[/spoiler]

Got it from VoG and i was playing with my friends and one random. The random wanted to kick me once i got Gjallahorn but my friends kicked him and we got someone else. (He was shit anyways).

It was when I had like 500 hrs played all my friends had the g-horn and would bloat about it in CE (I was the only one that didn't have it so I was always sword guy lol). It was back when aksor was the night fall boss and I was soloing it. I had my clan in the party and like two friends and as soon as I killed aksor and saw that g-horn drop I was like oh fukin shit guys except I had yelled it and probably made everyone go deaf XD

I've bought 2 of them the 2nd week from xur! Then I dropped 11 ghallarhorn

2nd time running vog normal I was lvl 28 first week of dark below and I got the gjalarhorn from Atheon I ran upstairs yelling at my mom that I got gjalarhorn I was so happy I was the first of my friends

I was farming on the raid and got it. I didn't really understand why everyone was so mad at me until I actually used it. To be honest I wasn't that impressed with it.

I was patrolling earth back in year one and i stumble upon a legendary primary engram. I go back to cryptarch and... [spoiler]hawkmoon[/spoiler]

I got Hawkmoon from my 1993rd end of game reward screen. At like 4am. I was just like "thank god it's over" I bought Ghorn back when Xur was selling it because I just wanted an exotic.

Was 2-manning an Omnigul Nightfall, I got Gjallarhorn and my friend got Hawkmoon, we were jelly of each other.

Got amusing stories for both: [u]Gjallarhorn[/u]: One of my first few nightfalls. I had just gotten my very first exotic ever, Truth, about a week earlier. So when another rocket launcher exotic dropped (I didn't know the picture and missed the name at first) I said on the chat, "That's lame! I already have an exotic heavy." You could almost hear my clan leader facepalming as he said "you better look again dumbass!" [u]Hawkmoon[/u]: The ultimate counter to the whole "earned" vs "xurned" argument. I see some friends in the Crota raid and they have an open spot. I jump in, and they are at Ir Yut. I never fully spawn in, and don't fire a single shot; I'm just a dead ghost orb back at the bridge. They kill the deathsinger, and -bam-, I get a Hawkmoon. Nobody else gets jack. There were a lot of salty guardians that night.

Galley As a Day one player. Did every Raid Religiously on all 3 Characters as often as time would allow and watched others get it countless times. Finally gave up and stopped caring. POE drops and I get it from a Level 28 Chest. Second one dropped on a Nightfall the evening XUR sells it the second time. Needless to say the ohhhh factor was totally Ruined on both accounts.

Nothing until house of wolves. Solo valus nightfall, got ghorn. I was pumped. Got a second the next day from atheon lol

Vault of Glass. Exotic chest. 2 weeks before the taken king. A scream of yes before realizing it would be useless soon.
