Can someone give me a legitimate reason why anime is garbage?
This recently popped into my head and I've been pondering it.
Is there any legitimate reason why anime is garbage, because nearly every reason is "the nerds like it" and "japanophobia".

3 RespuestasIf you're honest with yourself, it mostly just isn't good. The stories/quality/intellectual level are mostly pretty poor. People just love the [i]idea[/i] of it and get emotionally invested in it. There's some that's "good" but the genre as a whole is pretty repetitive and low quality.

People just insult anything that they don't like. Its a matter of opinion, you either like it or you don't. But people just don't understand it and just call anything garbage if they don't like it personally.

Every single anime I've watched (with the exception of Death Note and Pokémon) has had some strange stuff in it. Like SAO. That show has such an interesting plot line, and I [i]love[/i] stuff like that. But they sexualized a little girl at one point and made Kirito's sister fall in love with him. [spoiler]I probably just needed better animes to watch but that's my experience.[/spoiler]

I like anime but there is a lot of crappy anime that gives it a bad wrap. Seriously who the hell watches that anime known as slice of life genre or the school genre anime?

1 RespuestaThe art style is off putting and unsettling to me. I am just not a fan of how it looks. Never have. I think it's the large eyes. Because shows like Pokemon don't bother me but yugioh and up just look freaky to me. Hard to explain.

Even people that say that, usually find some enjoyment in anime that avoids certain stereotypes. It's the stereotypes that is the problem. Especially the ones catering to the stereotypical otaku/weeabo.

I don't think it's trash, just strange and I laugh at it sometimes. I laugh every time I see the, I'm going to talk to myself about the protagonist and how they surpass us in one way or another to beat the villain." Also the, whole segment they charge up an attack to beat someone, or the Cut to every single bystander to go, Ungh!, Che!, eh, etc. I don't know, but it is strange, my brother is into anime and whenever I sit around with him just to chill I laugh on the inside.
