If they cut the cool off time significantly for synths, that would be a good alternative. 5 minutes, as it currently stands, is a lifetime in battle.

  • I understand that but there is a increased drop rate so you'd basically have special ammo for days plus synths.

  • You can't stop during a damage phase and go running around picking up ammo, or go into your inventory and use a synth! People are complaining because the ammo nerf will significantly reduce a teams dps !! What they should do is have special ammo drop only twice during a match.

  • After thinking through each phase of the raid, I realize there's opportunities to grab bricks in between boss DPS moments. Totems will be the harriest because the ammo drops would have to happen on or near the path between the center and the totem. WP has an opportunity between each DPS phase. Even now, my team just communicates to not kill the center Knight, so everyone has time to mop up the bricks. Golgy already has a very natural ammo run opportunity between DPS phases when all the adds are killed, but before weakening the bubble. The Sisters should be killed by ToM - By now at least half your team should have this weapon, which is plenty to do the job. Oryx offers a couple phases to huddle ammo in a convenient place. In the very beginning a hunter can lure the flock of adds to the middle of the Sister's pillars, tether, then kill the adds. Also, after staggering oryx, killing the shooters, and doing the dance party, again, tether the thralls and massacre them in one lump. If Bungie's promise to increase drop rates is true there should be plenty of special and heavy ammo for the shade phases & killing knights phases.

  • You are totally missing the point! People are complaining because the ammo nerf will significantly reduce the teams dps, people will run out of ammo while doing damage. You can't stop and go running around picking up ammo during a damage phase.

  • I wear armor with sniper and machine gun ammo perks, so I usually have a little extra ammo after a DPS phase. The nerf eats into that leftover amount I'm used to, and I'm not promising it won't bite me in the ass, but if a DPS phase can be completed right as I hit 0 rounds, I'll be confident I can refill my stores for the next round. I didn't miss the point, I just think it's possible there won't be a significant impact on our experience. That said, if you don't use armor perks, or the weapons you use are on the lower end of native ammo capacity, you'll get screwed hard by the nerf.

  • The issue is the of dps during the damage steps, not about not having ammo. Yes we can pick up ammo crates in between, this has NEVER been a problem. It's running out of ammo during the dps phases that will be the issue, when you CANNOT grab bricks or pop synths.
