Exotic Engrams now guaranteed to grant an item with Light value higher than players total Light[/b]
Finally!!! Hopefully this means no more 265 Light items from engrams when opened on my 298 Ligh Level Titan!!! Even if it is only up to 310 for those engrams it is still better than it is now and hopefully this means that once you are at or above Ligh 310 all engrams will give items at Level 310 or possibly higher!!!

Edit: Only exotic Engrams follow this new rule. Still better than before.

You will not always get a higher Light item than what's in an individual slot. Example: you are 320 Light but already have a sweet 335 Helmet. You might still receive a 321 Helmet.

Yeah, almost every exotic i decrypted i got doubles of, and the highest rolled at 311, whoop-a-dee-doo bazil.

I've yet to have an exotic engram drop anything more than three or four (Max) light levels higher that of the characters current light level. There will be grinding.

agreed. Already tested twice. I only had two 3OCs left, and BOTH turned into exotic engrams!! (NEVER happened to me before. Usually like 7-8 in between exotic drops!) got a 321 Jade Rabbit (already infused as I HATE that weapon) and a 323 Crest of Alpha Lupi. I am LOVING this update already and I have not played a new mission/POE yet! was trying for WEEKS to get a harrowed helmet drop for any of my characters, yet my first faction package gave me a 323 helm!! love it!

I already have a 310 cloak. Need I continue? Sure, in the long run you'll still raise your light faster than now. But some people are saying you'll max out in a day.

Edit: I think you guys miss the point of what I meant. I'm not some elitist who thinks only those who put in several hours every day should be Max Level. I just think that it's going to be House of Wolves round two; most people had at least one max level character before the end of launch day. Now, I'm not saying it will be THAT bad. But it definitely makes it way easier. Between engrams containing guaranteed gear higher than your current light (according to the wording it IS guaranteed), and the new infusion system, Max level will be easier than ever, excluding House of Wolves era.

6 RespuestasPeople need to stop with "they won't give you new stuff" unless your Cosmo or Deej. If you don't work for bungie YOU DONT KNOW. I have 40 engrams but also have 110 three of coins and 100 strange coins so ready either way.

So here's my plan. The lazy method. I'm level 318 but my chest piece is at 310. If Xur sells an exotic chest engram on Friday it should decrypt 318+ right. This should raise my total light. Repeat next week with different engram. *non-legacy

4 RespuestasHahaha, destiny will never guarantee a streamlined way to hit max light quickly. They learned from HoW and have to keep you grinding. I think people who think they are going to be max light in 2 weeks are in for a rude surprise. This is destiny, it's going to keep being a long, slow grind. That's just what the game is and it's not changing.

Yep , got several exotic engrams stashed away , also got a couple of legendary ones alongside too , I know the legendaries won't amount to much but I really don't need anything else this close to the update so what harm could it do 🤕
