To put into words a bit saddening and unnecessary. Mida was like the guy that comes to work, doesn't show out, works consistently and has solid numbers. Yet the boss decides to cut his pay because other workers numbers are low by comparison.
It made no sense, but if anything the nerf speaks plenty of the current shape of destiny and where it seems to be headed. A pvp standardized game with sprinkles of pve to calm the masses. That being said, the destiny that focused on pve and pvp equally seems to be a thing of the past.
If anything I personally believe the stream of nerfs is most likely to make destiny a contender for mlg gaming little by little. If the trend continues, I will have no difficulties passing d2 as it will be a pvp focused game and that's not what I bought destiny for.
I could be wrong, it's possible that bungies refusal to separate weapon stats for pve and pvp even though they have demonstrated their capability of doing so multiple times points to their inability to handle large workloads. but I would wager that (like many of Destiny's failings) it stems from a pride factor somewhere in bungies headquarters. Artistic integrity is definitely good but like many things, too much of a good thing can lead anyone to ruin.

8 RespuestasIts a perfectly balanced gun in all regards except that it caused more stagger than any other scout. It had one outlying feature that gave it a noticeable advantage against most other weapons and they reigned in that one perk. A perk that some people in the community didn't even know about. In my opinion, Mida was barely touched, it will still be a great gun, just not as obnoxious to fight against. Anyone who thinks it was unnecessary hasn't really thought about it enough. That one outlying perk made it out right better than most scouts because without that perk Mida was/is a great gun with great perks, and with it, Mida was just notably more difficult to fight than other scout rifles, making It (very slightly) slightly unbalanced. I don't believe Destiny is a place where things could or should be perfectly balanced but I feel if a gun can be brought into a near perfect balance point with the slightest nudge, well you might as well try to do so. I believe Mida was one of those guns.
-
All they did was remove high caliber rounds. Get over it. Would you prefer they remove a middle perk and replace it with HCR?
-
Exactly so unless somebody gets fired, they'll never learn. A PvP developer should get fired cause obviously they don't care about PvE.
-
Now you can scope in with a sniper for a head shot while getting domed by it even easier than before.
-
I think it was a good tweak considering how it always messes with your aim on every weapon with the kind of fire rate the mida has.
-
I have to think that they are missing the big picture. When I jumped into PvP and got completely ruined by a weapon like Vex, that gave me the incentive to keep running the VoG to get my own. That can be said for a lot of weapons in year 1. Nothing is allowed to be special, popular, powerful or work well overall. Year 1, I only ran Mida in the Abyss. Never really found it as useful anywhere else, PvP included. Bungie needs to be able to distinguish OP with popularity. Popularity is never a reason to complain about a weapon or consider it OP. I ran Mida in IB and there are plenty of weapons that would out gun it. Plus if almost everyone was running Mida and 1k yard stare, the game was actually balanced.
-
1 RespuestaIt wouldn't have been perceived as op if other weapons were more apt at competing with it. Don't worry, the the oversized rounds perk won't affect too much, other than the fact that the person will land be able to fight back a little more. As long as you can still land head shots with it's epic AA you'll be fine.
-
8 RespuestasMida wasn't necessarily OP, but something had to be done about it. I think it was more of most of the other guns sucking and there not being a variety
-
Tbh, I didn't mind mida, I don't favour it (if I get a mida it goes into infusion for other weapons or dismantle.) the gun in my eyes was just a pussy weapon the gun that people use because it's good overall, the best overall choice, I'm more of a NLB Havoc pigeon guy and damn I still do better than any -blam!-ing hunter with a mida, it didn't need a nerf at all it was fine how it was, I double carry people in trials using NLB and HP, against mida sweats not that challenging I still respected the gun. RIP mida
-
The high caliber nerf was fair. People who use it for what its designed for ( agility and snappy feel ) will barely notice a difference. It doesn't need hcr to be good.
-
3 RespuestasJust removed the extra flinch. The people who were good with it will probably continue using it, the people who were just using it to be part of the meta might try something new. I don't really care, since after the 12th all I'll be using in PvP is my 320+ Universal Remote.
-
Maybe use it post nerf before you start a post about it??
-
I honestly never realized how much I hate the bungie devs until this latest update. Are they honestly all this -blam!-ing retarded?
-
I get what your saying but I think Bungie wants to make people feel like they have options and looking at those charts, they just don't. Yes you can do good with other guns but ppl with MIDA will go BETTER thats the difference.

2 RespuestasAnd the only reason is because it's a "popular" gun. Sigh...
-
Thing is, Destiny COULD be competitive, and Bungie wouldn't even have to nerf anything. Two words: PRIVATE MATCHES. Give them customizable options, and STOP NERFING SHIT. Not that hard.

Editado por MILLDOO: 4/8/2016 9:34:06 AMI agree it's very sad , as day one players you keep looking aback in to see if the spark has come back to the game will there be a cool gun again , puzzles, secrets, new areas to find things the odd new mission it had so much potential - in a years time all that will be left is PvP with rocks and they will be making them smaller to inflict less damage but heavy so they have no distance and if you find a shinny rock that feels good in your hand they will cut off your hand - turns out it's not a ten year game for gamers it was a 4 month game - night night destiny

1 RespuestaBungie bungie bungie... you have come from being a great developer to complete and utterly terrible; Your thinking is once a player gets good at something then you don't like it; look at what you are doing to weapons in the April update Jesus Christ the last word Nerf is so -blam!-ing ridiculous. I understand the ammo economy changes because they are understandable . Snipers are perfectly fine right now, you said that SOME players are using them as close to medium range weapons, however when someone hits a shot within close to medium range it is SO rare that people freak out when they hit them. And finally the fact that you aren't touching firebolts DOT and storncaller being SO Overpowered is so -blam!-ing unbelievable because firebolts with flameshield and viking funeral is so -blam!-ing annoying and IT IS A PROBLEM SO FIX IT!!! If these changes go through I am done with destiny
-
Literally all the good guns given the term unbalanced, are really the ones that were balanced best. It's all the underwhelming guns that are incredibly unbalanced.
-
2 RespuestasIf I'm not mistaken, Mida was just returned to its vanilla state, as HCR was once added as a buff. It won't be that bad, just easier to counter. Its focus is actually agility. Lightweight, strafe faster, third eye... Coupled with radiant dance machines and keen eye the thing is awesome. And helps any low-agility build.
-
1 RespuestaEditado por TheKrackerJax: 4/7/2016 9:15:40 PMThe nerf was absolutely unnecessary. Weapon buffs to auto rifles, pulse rifles and hand cannons alone would create the diversity Bungie was looking for and would curb the high usage of Mida in PvP.
-
1 RespuestaAll they did was take away a hidden perk that they put on them selves because ppl didn't acknowledge it as an exotic! Now that everyone dose they take it off! Well you know what!? Mida destroyed snipers even with out it!
-
We don’t like punishing a relatively-balanced weapon just because it is popular,
And yet...Mida....
-
Editado por ill skillz: 4/7/2016 10:51:00 PMGood paraphrase - the worker got laid off and sacked without pension or pay. Poor Mida. Accused of not been exotic enough to fill the "exotic" role for years - and then maliciously booted without anything high caliber left to fill its pension.

It still will be good
