So if you watched the twitch stream, snipers after the April update have been nerfed. I was expecting a nerf and agree that one was needed but they what they did I disagree with.
[b]Changes[/b]
- increased zoom of shortagaze, Longview SLR10 and ambush scopes
- increased [b]a[/b]im-[b]d[/b]own-[b]s[/b]ight time by 2 frames
- increased [b]ADS [/b]time by 10% when the [b]Snapshot [/b]perk is active (was a 30% reduce, now it's 20%)

Bungie is slowing down sniping. So more or less they are forcing snipers to camp and hardscope! Increasing the scope zoom also increases the aim assist btw. Slowing the scoping down only nerfs the good snipers with fast reflexes! This makes no sense!! Aggressive sniping is very hard to be good at. I have been practicing this for the last year and I am still not very consistent! And now that auto rifles and fusion rifles have been buffed in mid range it makes it harder again for aggressive snipers.
[b]Why Players Overuse Snipers[/b]
[b]1.[/b] fusions were useless [b]2[/b]. Hardscoping doorways is really easy to do [b]3[/b]. Aim assist makes dragscoping very consistent [b]4[/b]. Rez-sniping [b]5[/b]. Very little flinch [b]6[/b]. bodyshot - primary combo and [b]7[/b]. Trials- the most competitive crucible gamemode without any objective just promotes camping long sight-lines.
The perk Snapshot is for skilled quickscopers. Destiny is no CoD and I don't want it to be but after practicing it for the past year using a sniper consistently and now most of all that hard work is now useless! Make snipers more of a skilled weapon instead of a hardscoping, camping machine!

I think John Weisnewski needs to [u]reduce[/u] the overall aim assist on [b]rez-snipers[/b] and increase the flinch when being shot to increase the required skill to use them and reduce those annoying moments that the someone headshots you mid primary magazine.
( FYI aim assist increases the stickiness of your reticle on you target. It does not pull it towards the target!)

Almost never did I get killed point blank range with a damn sniper. If that happens on the regular in destiny, and if I can even do it without trying or having remotely any talent in sniping, then that means they are broken af ( or just too easy lol) . This game is dead lol people only came after snipers because everything else got nerfed to shit, all the original players have left because everything sucks dick.its just not fun anymore, everything used to feel strong and I didn't care if someone killed me with a different tactic or set up because I had faith that my tactics and setup were just as good. This game actually used to feel competitive, engaging, accurate, smooth etc. now it just feels clunky, weak, and slow. I haven't played in a while since the division came out, but I still got love for you destiny.

I do not think these changes will affect the performance very much tbh they are very weak changes that did not address the real issues. I do agree with you however that flinch when underfire should have been a primary nerf imo, followed by scopes that allow you to comfortablely aim at a target way inside the intended range of the weapon. Your post also shows a blatant disregard to all those that have had to do the same thing as you, relearn to use a nerfed weapon of figure out a better alternative, do you feel that somehow sniper rifles are different somehow in this regard?

3 RespuestasI'm so glad they Nerf the shit out of them. There is no such thing as aggressive sniping. To snipe you should camp and shoot at long distances not use the weapon as a scout rifle.

1 RespuestaWhat's really funny is that this won't impact the level of sniper use in Trials. Trials is really what this is about and their fix will be irrelevant. It will simply push people to use Snapshot as the new go-to perk. The real fix would have been to make sniper ammo a round based drop, just like heavy ammo and the problem would have been solved.

1 RespuestaIt won't change things that much imo. Increased zoom will take away some awareness from hardscopers, they'll be able to see less. Increased zoom actually kinda balances the increased ads time too, you could be off target by roughly the same amount with a low zoom and a high zoom when you ads. With the high zoom you can actually get on target faster, because the reticle has less distance to travel. Make some small adjustments and I don't expect it to really feel like anything changed.

7 RespuestasYou realize everything you show in this vid is what was wrong with sniping right? The quick scoping as you were showing it should never have been a thing. I don't know Howe anyone thinks that a snipers role is to run around getting quick shots in a close to medium ranges. That's completely infringing on other weapons roles and that's why they made the changes. They said it themselves in the stream. Snipers are a long range suppression. Not meant to be used as an all around versatile 1hk weapon. The only thing they forgot to address is still being able to get accurate shots off while getting shot in the face. Flinch implementation is broken because it re-centers and can be timed. Some form of descope would have been nice too. Currently (as you vid clearly shows) sniping is a low risk role and needed to be put back in place.

Or which side arm are you going to abuse to get sniper juice with? Sorry the crutch has been removed. No more sitting on the back of long hallways - you might have to get involved now......

Idk how jon weisnewski got his job dude but doesnt know wtf hes doing at all. He even has people on the forums like urself giving him good suggestions on how to fix problems(basically giving him the answers and making his job easy) yet he still fails.

Don't forget they are hitting ammo reserves again and crucible special drops people don't think when they complain about pvp weapons how it will affect pve. I hope everyone's happy that wanted all these nerfs. Next to go is sidearms. Lol I can see it now. The problem was them killing shotguns and fusions. This game will never ever be close to balanced.

As a shotgunner who now uses side arms when they nerfed shotguns to shitguns, I'm very content with the sniper nerf. I can honestly say I believe I foresee my trials KD and KD in general climbing back to the 1.25 it was before the shotgun nerf.

What other sniper is there beside the stillpiercer, which is class exclusive, or the olomon ones with wonky scopes? Adding more snipers adds diversity and changing the scopes is pointless and just makes a lot of people mad.
