Ammo backpack Nerf is terrible for pve

Have these guys never played the raid? You can easily empty the reserve for spindle or a machine gun on a single DPS round of a boss, and now we get even less in reserve? Fu[i][/i]cking hell! It will prolong boss fights, just because you'll run out of ammo, and be stuck with a pea shooter (primary) until the end of the round. This will make some encounters nearly impossible for lower light groups. Warpreist for example, because after 3 rounds, you have nowhere to hide from the oculus.   • If pve was hard id be concerned, but it's not. I'm sure everything will be just fine. I would've thought an easier solution would be to simply lower the amount of special ammo given from crates in pvp. Reduce the starting ammo as well.

    • 5-7 rounds. 5-7 rounds lost. That's it. I'm done. Done with this game, done with having my PvE ruined because of PvP. Done. Over and done. Bungie, please tell me when I'm supposed to leave the aura/light during Golgoroth and find more ammo, huh? Invective already has a pathetically low reserve, now it will almost have negative numbers. I can't do this anymore. Your constant nerfing of PvE because of PvP reasons has finally pushed me over the edge. This special ammo nerf is just too much. We are already at a disadvantage because of increased light levels.

      • Pve has taken the hit time and time again, as a pve only player on destiny, I gave up awhile ago, they only cater to the PVP side of the game, it's been going on since the first nerf, auto rifles. It will not change, Bungie doesn't care about pve players, obviously bc we have been stuck with a shell of a game since ttk launched.

        • Heaven forbid the raid is anything but stand still and shoot an enemy who is standing still in the head for as long as you can. Figure it out. It's PvE they're just enemies. Everyone will still complete the raid...

              They said they will increase the ammo drop rate... Do you really believe it?? By what?? 0.04%?? We know sometimes during the raid...many times the enemies did not drop any ammo at all. If you multiply 0 with 0.04%...its still ZER000..! Anyway... If they are not separating PvP from PvE..I will not buy any future Destiny...period. Otherwise they will keep doing this "based on PVP Nerf" stupidity. Guns, Supers get nerfed..gears too SunBreakers was fun in PVE until dedicated stupid PVP crybabies ruined it.

            • The best way to have not only your opinion be heard, but acknowledge and reacted to is by not providing them with your money. Once they have it, what you doesn't matter because you cannot offer them anything more. Do not buy Destiny 2, if you are weak willed then purchase the game used so the store makes the profit and not Activision/Bungie. Avoid Silver too.

                Another way they bolster their game play figures........which is all they ever do, make changes to increase the amount of time we play... Less ammo = less DPS = longer to kill a boss or clear a raid checkpoint which also constitutes the increased chance of a wipe and clean attempt.....which multiplies time spent in game exponentially. The bottom line......keeping us in game longer! And with the prison of elders making a come back, with its confined spaces and instakill mechanic.....good luck leaving cover up pick up that special ammo or heavy pack. Barely anyone will be playing but the ones who are will take so long to do everything it will look like launch day 2014!! And heavy only once per crucible match now??? Heavy bounties were a pain to complete before now you only get one chance per match!!?? No -blam!-ing thank you!

                • Yeah when they said they were nerfing the backpack I automatically thought of King's Fall. Mainly the Warpriest and Golgoroth. Because I promptly empty my magazine with both of these encounters (usually on the first phase). And it's not like you can just scoot special ammo boxes around to quickly side step over and pick up when you run out. And if you leave to go grab some...well that's critical DPS that isn't being done on the boss. Rather silly notion if you ask me. Dealing with the PvP sniping problem by nerfing their reserve ammo. Super helpful.

                  • Minus 5-7 rounds across the board. 10-13 rounds of black spindle ammo. Yeah. Exactly when am I supposed to go get ammo during the damage phases on bosses?

                    • Please don't forget that amongst all this ammo nerf, the insanely laggy time to go to menu and grab a ammo synth, as well as the location change in said menu of you picked up a damn black wax idol or something. Fix the slow menu, add a hot key (down on d pad) or something. I already haterd how they nerfed the amount of rocket ammo you can hold/pick up. And for all you "git gud" fairies, I can beat it with this and more nerfs, the question is will I stick around to? Dealing with the long wait for ammo synth regen for PoE, now having less said ammo, plus the ridiculous "glitch" phase of the taken..,I don't think I have enough patience to deal with his shit any longer... Are they trying to make the game super annoying over super fun? It sure seems that way to me.

                        • You know, if they at least had said "and we thought about how this might affect pve activities, particularly the raid where the impact of this nerf would be the greatest, and we decided x" I would feel better. It truly feels like pvp is all they care about right now. Whatever, I stopped playing pve months ago anyway.

                          • I'm a bit. . . skeptical when they stated the ammo nerf would be offset by more ammo bricks laying around. I can't count how many times they tried tinkering with ammo resulting in periods of time where myself and my team mates couldn't find any ammo. Whether it was Heavy, Special, or Primary. Hell I experienced it the other day just running patrol. So I hope they actually take a look at their ammo system and make it so it'll actually work.

                              I just can't see how this is so game-changing to where we need to complain about it. Having three less shots of Special Ammo in reserve, or half a magazine less than normal in my Machine Guns' reserves won't ruin the game for me. Especially since ammo drops more often; general ammo droughts will become far less common which I seem to experience a lot during Golgoroth. All in all I think we're overreacting to this.

                              • PVP is the absolute worst part of this game. It's clearly tacked on and meant to try to keep the game relevant, easy to make content for and please. PVP has ruined so much for us PVE players it's unreal and at this point just depressing. PVP needs to go away or be it's own thing with it's own weapons and perks not affecting PVE in any way. Why would I want last resort on my weapon in PVE? When the hell will that be useable? If I'm the last person alive in my group then we were destined to fail and if it's during a raid I just haven't found a way to wipe yet.

                                • Very true indeed although it can be solved with ammo synthesis; however, that requires you to pay glimmer which is stupid since it was free before.

                                  • Let them ruin their own game. By now they should see that affecting pve with changes like these one coming to weapons just makes it less enjoyable no one is gonna grind weapons just to fell underwhelming. I'm at a lose for words at this point to see that their game is all about getting those op weapons and always ruining their best weapons. Stop the nerfs and start buffing other weapons up the their level, fusions and shottys are lacking bring the up primary's being used enough make them stronger so their not such a gap between weapons classes.
