"Your Taste in Music Sucks"
Why does everybody think like this? I was just looking at the arrival of more music based threads, I've been seeing comments saying their taste in music is bad and such. Isn't your taste in music an opinion, and isn't your opinion different from other people's?
I hope soon, people start realizing that just because someone's taste in music is different from their's, doesn't automatically make it trash or bad.
Does anyone else feel this way? I just feel as that some people think that their favorite type of music is the only gooe music, and any other type of music they don't like, sucks as of fact.

I've literally never met anyone who pulls the whole "all rap is shit" or "I wish I was born in my parents generation man" tagline who genuinely has a high self-esteem, and isn't just covering up for insecurities with pseudo-individuality. News flash: you aren't a genuine person if you are defined by mainstream culture or counter culture. Try to appreciate all art that is handed to you, and I guarantee your outlook on life will be better, because that is what art is, the beautification of perspective.

I definitely feel the same way as you. My go to music genre is rap, I've made rap music, written rap music, and I listen to it on the daily. It's literally my life. But, this doesn't mean I stick to that one genre. I'll listen to literally anything you give me, whether it be Nirvana, Rakim and Eric B., Twenty One Pilots, or Johnny Cash. I don't discriminate lol.

I think it's funny that there are people who think themselves better than people who listen to music they deem bad, when in reality they themselves are lesser people for being close-minded. The guy who enjoys listening to Dubstep, Screamo, Rap and Country but who is also respectful towards others with differing tastes in music is a more valuable and socially intelligent person than the guy who listens to ACDC and Queen but thinks everything after 2007 is factually bad.
