So I decided to give out my opinion on the Doom PvP Beta for the fun of it. You may like it, hate it, worship it, or wonder if this post should be drenched in gas and torched. Anyways here we go.
Now since it's a beta I'm guessing there will be more weapons but as of now it seems pretty simple. The sniper, the shotgun, the assault rifle, the SMG, and two oddball weapons. This might not be a problem though if the game makes sure there is plenty of everything else. As for the movement it really feels like playing an online version of old pvps like Goldeneye 007 only with a few modern updates. The health system really keeps you on the move since if you stick around you might end up getting met with a shotgun to the face or a sniper picking you off. So it leaves you chasing health and armor while making your move to pick off another player so if you like to try to hold your ground you are probably not going to be a fan.
To sum it up it feels like it's trying to be a classic shooter so if you like stuff like Unreal Tournament or Goldeneye you may like it. If you are looking for something innovative this might not do it for you.

With how similar the gameplay was Quake, I was expecting rocket jumps, but, it doesn't look like it made the cut. The SSG feels slightly too weak as well, it hit near the high 70s during the Alpha, but, dropped down to 60s in the beta. Hate how the Glory kills aren't a toggle, so, you can get stuck in an animated Melee when you just want to finish the player off in a gunfight. Picking up the monster rune gives you full invincibility during the animation, instead of a damage reduction, so, players could use to it duck out of gunfights they were losing and come back with full health and an insta-gib rocket launcher as the Revenant, which pissed me off to no end. Didn't like the maps a whole lot, it was kinda lame how there's still load outs, I was honestly hoping that would be scrapped and we would need to collect our weapons and power weapons via secret areas similar to DWANGO maps, but, I guess not. The maps also were quite bland. Overall, I liked it, getting to the max rank of 15 only took like 5 games, but, it was still enjoyable to play afterwards, really hoping they give the ability to change directions on the double jump though.

This is not doom. It's garbage.

Didn't enjoy it. My number one problem is that it needs to rebalance weapons. ARs are almost useless and I don't believe Rocket Launchers shouldn't be primaries. Second is there's hardly any in game tactics. And finally there's a lack of overall teamwork. If they improve on those things then it could potentially be a great game. Otherwise it's just a game that's pretty similar to TF2 but it costs $60.

22 RespuestasI watched a few game clips my friend made on xbox, and it just looks like Destiny: Doom edition. Shotguns for days.. It really kills my interest in the game tbh

2 RespuestasThe alpha and beta felt more like Quake 3/4 to me than DOOM. Great game though. There is apparently another beta coming.
