Pay to win 100% CONFIRMED
Being able to RNG armor perk rolls with $ is a competitive advantage.
For example it took me 4 months into year 2 of RNG and grinding to finally get a decent 5/5/0 INT/DIS/STR 2 sniper ammo piece set for my hunter. Until then I couldn't achieve tier 5 discipline with 2 sniper ammo pieces.
Tier 5 vs tier 4 discipline and amount of sniper rifle ammo you can hold is a big deal. Plenty of times games are won and lost by these small factors because the teams are very evenly matched skill wise. For competitive pvp players this is HUGE. I have to wait 4 months plus grind countless hours just to match the armor rolls someone credit carded in an afternoon???
THIS IS PAY TO WIN COMPETITIVE GAIN!
The armor you buy has it's own perks and doesn't take your old armor perks with! Example: I have 10 random INT/DIS pieces but 0 of them have sniper ammo. I buy pieces with real money until I get sniper ammo then infuse my high light level INT/DIS junk into it. The very definition of pay to win.

You wanna pay out 40 dollars for DLC that is mediocre, had lots of bugs when first released, and gave little incentive to play again after its release? Remember the Dark Below? Our 4 new missions? Our 2 new Strikes? Plus a whole new raid that took only 30 minutes to run through because of the amount processed dairy fats that was all over that Raid? You wanna pay 40 for that? Or would you rather have someone who has money and the dedication to play this game fork out 50 or more for some good looking emotes/armor pieces that he still needs to level up?

12 RespuestasWhat people don't seem to understand is that by giving people the option to spend money for game progress is indeed pay to win. It doesn't matter the cost, it's the option to do so. I know people who spend over $1,000 on games. Say I grind the game all day today hoping for armor to drop and I get 3 pieces. Someone can use their credit card to buy 100 pieces a day without even playing. So I get 3 pieces and they get 100 because they spent money and I didn't. That's unfair. Plain and simple.

So no, not That big of a deal. I'll take an extra 5 seconds for my grenade or melee instead of spending hundreds of dollars on silver. And if there are a few people who do, that's cool. I doubt I'll match with them anyways.

I'm not a fan of buying gear to enhance the gaming experience. The reason is because I'm not a competitive player. I take what RNG gives me and hopefully it's good. Chances are it won't be and I will have to continue playing. It is what it is. I won't be purchasing anything from Eververse and couldn't care less with regards to those who do.

So, because you had bad RNG for 4 months, people shouldn't be able to buy a chance to get the item they want with a chance to get perks from the same pool of perks that everyone gets for free? If it were selling specific pieces of armor with specific perks and stats then I could understand this but that's not the case. The fact remains that when you purchase the sterling treasures, it's still RNG to get the item you want, plus RNG for each perk and stat that you want, plus you sacrifice a high light piece of armor. You gain no tactical advantage from buying a chance at a functional equivalent of something you already have the chance to get for free.

If you want to pay 5 dollars for 2.5 armor rolls then by all means do so. You are funding for a game I like to play and I highly doubt you will get exactly what want. FYI : what I mean by 2.5 is if you spend another 5 dollars after you don't get the roll you want you can then purchase 3 after that.
