In reality, Year One Legendary Weapons come from Vanguard/Crucible reward packages
Datto: If I have a Year One Legendary weapon that is “returning" to Year Two, will I be able to Infuse the Year One version?
Short Answer: No.
Longer Answer: Bringing selected favorites from the Year One Legendary arsenal forward into Year Two isn’t like upgrading an Exotic Weapon in your collections kiosk. You’ll need to earn the Year Two versions of Legendary Weapons again, this time from the reward packages that are granted when you rank up with the Vanguard or Crucible Quartermasters.
First off, I don't like destiny's pvp, and almost never have fun playing it.(That and it's nerfs are slowly killing the game, but that's not why I made this topic...)
That said, when I was a noob, I wanted a good scout rifle. So I looked around and saw The Saterienne Rapier. Being a noob, I could not buy it because I was rank 0. So I grinded pvp for weeks and finally got it, and it was amazing.
But now I have to grind pvp again for a chance to get it, with a even smaller chance to get the same roll as mine.
Why not add infusion on year 1 weapons as well? Why should we grind pvp/pve for a chance of our old weapons back?!
/rantover
EDIT, read this please:
Ok I don't want to sound whiny/entitled as there is a lot of good things in the update(Infusion fixed, better PoE, good emotes, etc) even this system of re-obtaining year 1 weapons is better than nothing. But I think it could have been better in regards to bringing back year 1 gear. Maybe have etheric light 2.0 or something, anything that would let us use our original year 1 gear.
Of course raid weapons should probably be earned again in a level 40 VoG or CE/brought at a kiosk like exoitcs as they are better than most legendarys and have the same roll every time.
But again, sorry for the complaint post, but I think It needed to be complained about, as I'm not the only one still salty about our gear getting left behind last September.
Edit 2: I'm not saying year 1 gear should only be obtainable by ascending it, the new way of getting them is great for year 2 players or those who dismantled them, but I think having both ways of getting them would be best.

15 RespuestasYour post makes sense but what about those who never played year one? They will be at a terrible disadvantage when the update drops. That is why they are making everyone grind them regardless if you already earned it before.

4 RespuestasThey're just doing what they can to avoid allowing elemental primaries to return. If they only allow return of vanguard weapons with this method, it ensures all raid weapons will remain stuck in Y1 (meaning no elemental primaries). IMO, this has Luke Smith's handprints all over it. He was the one who made the decisions to cut elemental primaries. If they made Y1 guns ascendable, they would have a much harder time arguing that the raid weapons should not be ascendable. But if they do it with this method, then nobody can complain. Truth is that they don't want us to have really powerful weapons because if we did, we would complete content faster. They know they are under pressure from the competition (The Division) and they need to hold our attention longer. So they think they can do this by giving us subpar guns (Y2 perks suck vs Y1, and any old Y1 guns that "return" will most certainly have Y2 perks on them; nerfs to our favorite Y1 guns) they can keep us playing just a little bit longer. Truth is FUN GUNS keep us playing longer, not weak guns. I agree with you on this one. Its BS that we have to grind for weapons we already have. The guns I have are fine as is with the exception of light level. MAKE ALL WEAPONS ASCENDABLE.

3 RespuestasEditado por Killlerschaf: 4/1/2016 2:40:54 PMIt's just artificial playtime and I am sick of it. I'm at the point where I had to grind for the same weapon 4 times? Year 1 infusion shouldn't even be debatable. It should have been here when TTK launched. "We respect your invested time... Blah blah blah". Tell the lies to someone else.

I don't mind it seeing as there wont be much to do either way BUT I do hate the fact that my God Roll LDR Won't be used again which makes me against all of this in the first place does bungie even know how hard it is to get a double down, field scout, firefly LDR? Also people can hate on my roll saying it sucks but I find it god like.

Editado por Megaman: 4/2/2016 10:03:30 AMThis is what Destiny is. Forced systematic obsolescence every couple of months with some re skinned AI here and there in addition to the starting/finish points on maps being reversed is what every past, current, and future "expansion" has done and will continue to do, all the while actually walling off more content than it actually brought to the game. If you haven't realized this after two years of Bungievision doing this...consistently...then there's no hope for you.

6 RespuestasEditado por SKILES85: 4/1/2016 9:15:18 PMWhy is it so hard to change the number beside our old content and gear? Damn, if it really is so difficult, just leave it behind and make new stuff! Yeah, I'd like the option to use my Ice Breaker or rock my VoG hunter cloak. But nobody wants to grind another full year for all this old shit! A blue level Y1 exotic will never be exciting. Spending months upgrading all our old stuff will never be fun. I've seen a massive change in the amount of people playing destiny since the beginning of Y2. It's a night and day difference. People played more when nightfalls dropped max level exotics, when xur had new stuff, when raids dropped sweet, max lvl, elemental loot. In the past, I could upgrade, and use everything in the game I liked. Now, all 3 of my characters have been stuck wearing gear I don't even like and using the same set of weapons for 6 months. I guess it's not about how good the experience will be, it's just got to be good enough to buy.
Phone games like clash of clans, are making a ton of money because people will pay, real money, to upgrade 1 out of 300 pieces of a -blam!-ing wall. After the initial enjoyment, the grind slowly becomes so unreal, that paying real money is the only way to get the satisfaction of upgrading one more thing. That [buy here] button is always flashing letting you know x amount of $ will give you what you want immediately. Now destiny isn't quite there yet, but tell me why the grind become so pointless? Why don't max level exotics/ end game loot drop any more. Why did I have so many options of gear and weapons in year 1, and now I have so few options? I think it's because if you can't get it from a reasonable grind, people will eventually just buy it.
I'm all for it we don't need got role crutch shotguns back at it again
-
How about we simply do what they did in the dark below have Xur trade our year one for year two. Make it so all it does is upgrade the light to 280 and we infuse from there. Perks won't change and those of us who held onto these legendary treasures don't have to grind it out all over again

7 RespuestasWhen leveling weapons (again) takes the lions share of effort its but a reflection of how shallow this games content has become.

1 RespuestaEditado por Beau__98: 4/1/2016 6:12:47 AMBecause bungie is a bunch of morons. Also why can't all year one weapons be brought back?
-
Agreed. As a guardian who has been here since the beta, I quit grinding for anything in Destiny. Now I just have fun using my year 1 weapons in crucible.
-
Lemme play devils advocate. The game needs something for people to grind for. Not only that but there are serious problem weapons left over from year one that if brought back would be a serious pain to deal with. Now let me be the white knight. They took our weapons that we earned away from us and had the nerve to bring them back and call them new content.

91 RespuestasYou all need to stop living in the past. It's an evolving game. That's why there's no year 2 version of year 1 raids. Just accept it or move to another game.

1 RespuestaI'm actually happy to get those Y1 weapons because, I was never around during Vanilla and TDB era.
I started playing a week or two after House of Wolves was released.
When they found out that the Black Spindle was dropping at an attack higher than it should they adjusted it, which included the ones present in the kiosk and in our inventory. If they can do that then they can adjust say Shadow Price across the board.

6 RespuestasI hate to break this to you if you dont play much pvp right now ..... the crucible drop guns have a really really poor drop rate. you will have to play for weeks to even get a hope of one to drop. when you drop 1 it probably wont be what you want or have an awful roll on it. I have been doing the sword quest in the crucible the last 2 weeks and finally dropped a red spectre and spare change. I seriously only want the party crasher with a good (ok god ) roll on it. but still nothing. so be prepared for lots and lots of pvp grindage for them.
-
From a programming standpoint i understand why year 1 can't be infused up, but I have little motivation or excitement for them. As far as we know drops rates are still low as well as rep gains so I doubt I'll even see the ones I want for months much less the rolls I want. As much as I do like most of the update, story missions, pvp, and strikes as well as court of oryx (artifacts alone are a poor incentive) are still going to reward poorly. I still haven't had a party crasher drop at all and only one eyasluna that had unworkable perks. So more stuff to earn while good doesn't mean much if I still see them earned at a snails pace.
-
83 RespuestasOh please, get over it. With all the weapons being retweaked and updated to match current light levels it makes perfect sense to have to get them again. Just like exotics, it makes sense because I would, 100% of the time, choose to find or grind all over again a weapon from the beginning over potentially dealing with broken/glitched weapons. Which if they just bumped everything up has a chance of doing. So. Get over it.

1 RespuestaAgreed. Most of the weapons they're bringing forward are sitting in my vault, and now they expect me to grind for them again? Fvck that..
