How can a straight line end up as a lap... wouldn't a lap require a circle or oval
Back and forth. Not laps got it.

A lap csn be 1 set of forward and back. Not just a lap on a track field it can be a straight line. Eg a lap in a pool is from one end to another and back not the outer edge. But that definition of lap is a lot older.
