My son accidently deleted his hunter... can you PLEASE give us an option to lock characters on the load screen?
Title says it all, he is handling it very well. Lost a fully unlocked hunter, some 320 guns and gear. He was distracted by his little brother and thought he was hitting the A button, but was hitting the x button instead. When the 'r u sure screen' popped up he wasn't paying attention and hit A.
His GT is infinityfire316..pretty sure you can't restore it.. but if you can.. great!
Edit: You know the lock on your fav guns or gear? That is what I am asking for.
Edit2: Like his school work, he needs to slow down. He laughed at his own mistake, and was embarrassed to even tell me it happened. He hasn't cried or raged about it, and even though he has reason to, he hasn't blamed his brother. Honestly I couldn't be more proud of how he is handling it. He isn't even asking for a lock, but likes the idea. He has shown maturity beyond many of the people replying to this post.
Edit3: Thanks for all the constructive and encouraging replies. This is a really good suggestion. "PomOnline-- A better system would be not allowing you to delete a character if one or more of their equipment is locked, simple."

Hiw do you accidently delete your character? Not only is it a long press, you have to click yes. So no, your child learned a lesson to pay attention.

I still and never will understand how people can "accidently" delete something like a character! Sure a weapon maybe but a character? Wtf. You need to hold the button down for atleast' three seconds and even after that it will say are you sure? I don't know how old your kid is but when i was young i didn't even speak english but i'd probably still understand what Deleting my entire game character means.

You do realize after holding "square" then there's this confirm thing that pops up that says "are you sure you want to delete this character" 2: nothing can be done, Bungie clearly said anything deleted is perminately gone.

It takes well over 10 seconds to delete a character. It was because he was angry most likely But, they did it with weapons, no reason why they can't with characters

I can't see how he did it accidentally I'm not calling you a liar or anything it's just you have to hold that button down for a long time and you get a message asking you to confirm that you want to delete your character.
