Lots of salt on this forum in the past about RNG-based rewards. This week the Doctrine was the prize for 7 wins in Trials and I can't recall more competition on a game-to-game basis. Seems like everyone was sweating for the DoP.
I barely got mine...after hours of play and finally getting a buddy to join me and a good guy from LFG we got to 5-0 before losing 3 straight, then had to fight incredibly hard and come back from 3-0 deficits to win games 6 and 7.
Got DoP to drop with counterbalance. I don't think I've hollered as loudly for a drop like that since Gjallarhorn, Year 1.
In terms of "earning" something, this truly felt like I earned a weapon I had prized for awhile.
However, I know for a lot of people the endgame feel of Trials this week was too much to bear for getting this weapon...and if it weren't for some luck, I'd be in the same boat.
Is this the type of experience we want for high-quality weapons? Or do people like the RNG factor since it gives more people a shot at items that become difficult to acquire?

1 RespuestaI've used the doctrine before it was cool to use it ahh all the noobs gonna get it nerfed
-
It'll be nerfed. Too many people are complaining about it already.
-
7 RespuestasI've been using Atheons Epilogue in PVP because I have no team that can take me through trials. Also, how do you check what the weekly primary is?
-
I kept getting blocked by tryhards who already had doctrine, even without salt that gun needs a nerf Also year one weapons need a hard nerf when level advantage is enabled, sweaty players using icebreaker because they need that sniper ammo right away
-
I did all three of my runs on Sunday night and some carries with a friend on Monday. Each match was consistently against negative kd players. Only a fair few were any good. I say it wasn't all that "sweaty".

3 RespuestasEditado por adder3: 2/23/2016 8:19:42 PMLol I'm seeing a bunch of shitty ppl running around with the doctrine of plebs (that's what I call the non adept version)... I think they all thought that If they got Doctrine, they weren't gonna be trash anymore.... Funny
you can just stand there sometimes and watch them spray bullets at everything but you
Personally, I like rodeo on mine

I only just managed 8 wins on my last attempt for flawless... my doctrin roll was good tho. Counterbalance!!
-
Yup; it was bad enough that the map was Exodus Blue.

4 RespuestasWhich is better, counter balance or rangefinder?
-
2 RespuestasMy team was 6 and 0 with mercy and lost 3 in a row, and then won the 7th 5 to 4 with me capping the zone at the end. I was about to freak out lol but I finally got mine with counterbalance and it's awesome
-
1 RespuestaI got 8-0 and we faced the ultra sweaty carry sniper. The carried guys t-bagged at the end.
-
17 RespuestasIf you weren't a scrub then going flawless wouldn't be a prob, bob. You'd already have 8 adept ones like me because that's the only thing that ever drops from the chest.

1 RespuestaNot mad. Got pretty much perfectly rolled Arminius D.
-
4 RespuestasI got one on all 3 characters. I got one with rangefinder, one with rodeo, and one with counterbalance. Plus I made it to the lighthouse for the first time and got doctrine adept with rangefinder. It was a good weekend
-
2 RespuestasI have 1 with counter balance and 2 with rangefinder, one being adept
-
Lol got it from bounty. Congrats man!

2 RespuestasIt's good, but the hype is dumb. It's not any better than other bullet hoses. It's just the trials one so it carries a cool factor. Everyone flipping out over it is going to be disappointed when they find out it doesn't make them a magic mlg pro. Outside of close range it can be beat by nearly anything. It's a weapon that's really great at one job but nothing else whereas other popular guns are more viable over more ranges such as MIDA.

1 RespuestaI came up short by 1 game. Didn't have a lot of time due to work. Got 6 wins on the last card then reset hit. I still wait
-
I agree man , it was a real sweat fest , managed to get it on all characters , however I prefer my eyasluna

It shows people either really wanted it bad to have an edge OR people REALLY didn't want anyone else having it. We tried and got to 5 wins before someone dropped, but I'm not really worried about it. After last night, I've lost interest in this game's pvp for a while. It just isn't that much fun. Dying doesn't bother me too much nor does losing but seeing the same thing almost every game? I understand that trends do exist, but we only played against one team that actually used something we didn't think we'd ever actually see.
