I got really far without a headset
-I've been flawless (have scarab)
-I've completed King's Fall over 20 times
-I get to rank 5 Iron Banner every time it's out
-I complete the nightfall every week
-I made it to 320 about a month ago
For the love of God, give people that don't have a headset a chance. Like me, they may be a very well listener. If I'm looking for a raid group and I ask for an invite and I tell them I don't have a headset.. 90% of the time they'll ignore me. But their loss, I'm a great player.
Edit: Guys, I can easily afford a headset, I just prefer not to talk.
Edit: Headsets are an added bonus in most cases, although you don't need one to get the job done.

I always laugh when we play with ransoms and they complain that he doesn't have a mic, he then proceeds to lead the entire group without speaking. Honestly. I wish more people would stop using mics. Listening to their bong rips and abrasive ordering is annoying as hell. GG sir. Keep wrecking shop. And to my boy ibrotherDave: You da man!

I haven't ever used a headset and it is completely not needed to complete anything in this game if you can listen to your other teammates. Some just like to use the excuse of another player not having a mic because they suck themselves. Some just prefer not to have people without a mic and that's completely fine. I understand that some people without them tend to not turn their volume up to listen to their team. I use the psn messaging app and have a keyboard hooked up to my PS3 to reply as fast as possible to any questions

I an kinda curious of how far could you go without a headset, i mean most bundles of consoles comes with a headset, you could use skype or something on your cellphone. No being an ass or something lol but im just curious.

I just don't understand how people do it. I mean each to thier own, but if I couldn't communicate with people, I'd have given up gaming by now. I'm more about having a laugh with people than anything else when I'm gaming.

I get your point, however, a headset makes teamwork so much easier. A cheap headset does the job just fine!!

Not required,but even just being able to respond to people in raids etc. is a bonus,even if it's just a simple yes or no.With the requirement some people put up I can imagine a lot of "no mic'ers" get booted just because they don't respond to anything.You may know every encounter but come up against a team that can communicate in pvp say and I know where my money would go.

It's not that you're a bad player, it's just so much more easier with communication.

Communication is vital in team-based activities. Even if you are as skilled as you say (which I'm not doubting), eventual it breaks down to who was working together best, and this requires feedback from all parties involved.
