After today's BWU, it's clear PvE support is done.

The matchmaking ruckus has been handled well. But not a peep regarding the future of PvE. Which tells me they are capable of communicating, they just dont have a thing to discuss about the future of content. Because they are done supporting it. The forums are 95% PvP players at this point. All the PvE players have moved on. And Bungie couldn't care less at this point. If you look at the posts that deej and cozmo respond to, they are almost exclusively PvP concerns. Its done.

  • They fixed two glitches in the raid. Updated the drop rate for a ship from pve. That's called pve support.

...They're fixing some of the issues in the raid. Namely teleporting ogres. Supports's not done, there's just not much to fix until new content comes out. Crucible has so many problems they have to work on it. Edit: didn't look at date. Thought this was on reaponse to this week's update.

          • It's also easier to do pvp fixes and more time consuming to produce raids, which will surely still come out but nobody wants a rushed raid

            • Oh... My... Lord...??? I know that the Bungie Weekly Update (BWU) 12/10/15 was so long ago that you clearly do not remember it, so I will not so gently remind you. I will begin with a copy/paste quote from said BWU concerning updates to come in 2016:
The first of these early 2016 experiences will be on a scale close to Festival of the Lost. The second will be far larger than anything you’ve seen since the release of The Taken King.
So let's see, Crimson Doubles starts next week. After that... Guess what comes next? Go ahead, you can do it... Come on now... You can do it... I'll give you a minute... You can even have three minutes... You need another minute??? Maybe I'll copy and paste again for you, after all they say repetition helps with learning:
The first of these early 2016 experiences will be on a scale close to Festival of the Lost. The second will be far larger than anything you’ve seen since the release of The Taken King.
Of course, it will come, it will go... But will you be satisfied? Please read this comment with the most extreme sarcasm you can muster while being assured that this is in no way satire. Go out and shoot stuff guardians in PvE or PvP. Enjoy as much or as little of it as you are able!

              • For gods sake Deej, bosses of Bungle and Destiny managers. Enough flucking PVP already. Enough. When ya get around to getting your proverbial heads out of your bums, and do some PVE news, send me an invite back to Destiny. You've lost me and thousands of others with the constant deluge of PVP fixes. 5 months since the last DLC and you just keep losing players daily, weekly, and monthly. Wonder how the new CEO likes that. And as I see I'm not the only bitching here so carry on flamer trolls.

              • It's probably because the number 1 concern for quite some time now was the state of the Crucible. Spit makes sense to make that top priority. Also, are people forgetting the release date of TTK??? It really hasn't been out for that long.

                • PvE content gets stale extremely fast compared to PvP. PvP is competitive and is the only thing really keeping destiny alive right now. That is why it has been mainly featured in the weekly updates as of late. Take this as an opportunity to experiment in PvP! I used to be a PVE only player but over time I've become heavily focused on PvP purely because of how competitive and fun it can be with buddies. I do agree they should have some temporary PVE event every few months like the original vanilla Queens Wrath event.

                • I do want more PvE and that's coming as a more PvP end player. PvE IS fun, it's just it's hard to make it as replayable as PvP, at least with actual new content. I would be -blam!-ing ecstatic if they just offered end-game gear for the other raids, and gave us a 300 or 310 light Prison of Elders, as I'm sure most of the community would as well. While we would ultimately want NEW stuffs, there's no doubt in my mind that we would like at least some OPTIONS for grinding. It's literally all positives: more content, more variety in players, less wasted game space, and more players. What, you lose the (an it's highly arguable regardless) that the lore doesn't pair up killing Crota at this point in the Destiny timeline? Who would actually give a shit. It's hilarious because they already have features for prolonging play but they don't capitalize on them. Unique strike gear was absolutely fantastic in design, why not expand on it? Why not throw in all the strikes at this point? Have a dedicated team to make some new strikes every so often (new pvp maps while we're at it). Implement this into Patrols even. Present strings of patrol missions and exploring to offer extended treasure hunts for long lost gear that is also unique. Find an end game for your whole audience and stop with this tunnel vision of "wah they NEED to play this very specific current thing or bust" mentality Bungie. That's whats killing us.

                • Its far easier to maintain the pvp side of the game than it is to be creative and make pve content that requires thought to it. In pvp all they got to do is make rift the ib and let people go to town.

I'm pretty positive this is the reason Destiny is making PvP their focus.. http://investor.activision.com/releasedetail.cfm?releaseid=937901 Specifically this quote "Since its launch, Destiny has become the most watched console game on Twitch"

                      • PvP events are easier to make. In any case, we already know that new content is dropping in the spring. Maybe it has some PvE shit. Keep in mind that PvE stuff takes longer to make. Especially if there's a storyline involved. They can't pop raids, strikes and missions out like guppies. Have some goddamn patience, man. And people say the PvP community is whiny. Holy hell. Of course the one week events and shit are gonna be PvP; IT'S EASIER. PvP also has more replay value. It adds longevity to the game, so people stay around long enough for PvE shit to be made. I don't understand the anger. First it's "Oh, Bungie never tells us anything!" and then they tell us exactly what's going on and you're all like "This is garbage, waaaaahhh!" You don't always get what you want. Play another game in between PvE content drops if you don't enjoy PvP. PvE events are understandably more difficult to create. From triggers to storylines, it's a lot more different than re-skinning a Crucible mode and adding some lame loot. Unless you want the mess that was Queen's Wrath. I remember the community erupting with hate when it came to Queen's Wrath's initial launch. Now everybody wants it back... For some reason. Short of adding unique content, they can't make Queen's Wrath better. Just be patient, man. There are plenty of PvE games out right now. Play Fallout, Elder Scrolls Online, Just Cause, whatever else. It's not a sin to play a different game while the game you want to play is in a content drought. I don't get it.

I'm convinced the company is in a state of complete disarray, utter confusion, and doesn't have a clue what the future will bring. We've all seen what happened in 2014 with the launch and how the content was cut to hell, people leaving the company, all the nerf'ing and buff'ing and other changes without real reasoning as to why. And just because the gaming public asks for something doesn't make it appropriate or right. For the past year and a half we've not had a clear and concise path for the future, not even one shred of information. All we get is cryptic messages, double-speak, smart ass'd comments, nothing substantive, nothing. And here we are, wondering what 2016 will bring. People are leaving this game in droves, a game that had promise in 2013 as being a living, breathing, community, with content such that we'd never be bored. But we're left with two community managers who couldn't communicate if their life depending on it, unless, they're being told NOT to. That would make it a bit better, but not alot. I simply want to know where this game is going, both PvE and PvP. Just -blam!-ing tell us. Quit with the weekly updates that feature clans, individuals, I don't give a flying -blam!- about them. I want CONTENT information for 2016 and beyond. It doesn't have to be 100 accurate and it doesn't have to be something you promise to be 100 percent correct. We just need to know what the PROPOSED plan is, that's all. Seriously, nobody likes the weekly updates the way they're presented now. Its a slap in the face to all of us that have supported you since 2014. I've said this in so many posts it's become pathetic now, but Bungie, you better get your shit together soon or nobody will be coming back to play a Destiny 2 if you don't. Oh, and I don't consider the spring Valentine's event to be relevant. If this is what we have to look forward to for all of 2016, it's bullshit!!! Bullshit, plain and simple.

                              • You're absolutely right. If they spent any time on randomizing spawns, enemies, etc. in missions, patrols, and strikes, PvE would be just as strong as PvP ... And it would do wonders to stave off the PvE drought. And on that note; I love how PvPers tout how unique an experience PvP is with every game. It's the same maps, the same weapons, the same meta, the same "tactics" every time. It's damn near as easy to predict PvP matches as it is PvE. Just look at those Trials maps and arguments about snipers, Mida, and TLW if you need proof of that. Unfortunately ... They don't give two shits, and would much rather spend their time making "rage mode" for lovers PvP. How the mighty have fallen.
