Open challenge to the PVP Elitist Sect
Ok, I removed, (I think) everything I first posted. Not because of the insults, but so I could explain what I am trying to say better, and to illustrate my point better. First off, it is true that I barely play crucible. The reason for that is that at 53 years old, I can not match reaction times, eye hand, etc. of younger players, and no amount of practice will change that. I go into most matches, and have no chance. I highly enjoy playing Iron Banner, where my light level helped level things out against some players. Pretty much half of Destiny is unenjoyable for me, because of connection based matchmaking. PVP is no fun. With SBMM, I would have played against younger players, but to be perfectly blunt, younger players that sucked. Now, I keep hearing how it gives top % people sweaty matches all the time, while lower % players get a relaxed game. Not true. Simply because we are facing those of equal skill as well. We still have to try, but at least we stand a chance. My point was, that it really wasn't the connections that were the MAIN issue. As my revised challenge says, if they fixed the game to run as smooth as glass, you would still complain about it. Sorry, but thats just the truth. Another truth, is that if SBMM stayed in place, I would play more crucible. It would have a chance of being fun, and open that closed half of the game to me. This is what I was really trying to say. You can insult me all you want, it makes no difference, because in the long run, its just a game.
Let me reword the challenge. If bungie fixed the lag issues so that every game played as smooth as glass, you would still complain about SBMM. I challenge anybody to say otherwise.

2 RespuestasIf SBMM was the reason for increased lag that was affecting [i]everyone[/i]. It had to go. As for your challenge, the true PvP "elitists" wouldn't mind having a arena mode set aside for them so they can challenge top tier people if they so desire. ~[i]TheGreatNike[/i]

Of course a higher kd comes from killing those less skilled. If everyone was equal we'd all be around 1kd. I think the challenge should be ok you don't have constantly sweaty games anymore so stop using a constantly sweaty loadout. 99% will still use TLW/ thorn/ mida and CTD/1000 yard Those same guys will say 'I like them because they're fun' like the thorn defenders of old. Actually they're just afraid of not coming top in a game of unranked crucible that doesn't matter at all. I'm a good player with a 1.7 kd. Not amazing but pretty good. I want to be able to play with loads of builds without getting smashed. Right now that's impossible.

9 RespuestasYou are not smart. First off, you play almost no crucible, and a negative KD, so you have zero idea what you are talking about. SBMM doesn't hurt lower skill players (beyond some lag issues) because there are a lot more of them. So you don't need to work very hard to find a match to play in. But for the top 1%, the players with a 2.0+ overall KD, finding a match is damn near impossible because of how few they are. And even when they do, their matches are even more laggy then the average players because the top players obviously don't all live next to one another. SBMM is bad for everyone, but it's worse for them. It has absolutely nothing to do with them being mad about losing their KD. They are made because this makes the game damn near unplayable, you know, if it wasn't already.

Your argument is pretty stupid. Of course we killed people less skilled than us most of the time because we are the 1% so almost everyone is less skilled than us. Sbmm doesn't work as well for upper tier players on peer to peer because there are a lot less people of our relative skill level, so often times you're playing against people from other countries and I'm sure you know how that goes. Another thing is this, to be as good as many of the top 1% players they often never switch from the meta, and while of course I play the meta a lot, I also love using no land beyond but that difficult when every match I play is against people of my skill level using only last word and 1k yard stare. Do I like stomping a team? Of course I do its fun. But I also really enjoy playing trials and having competitive games. It would just be nice to have some games where I can mess around and not be playing sweats.

I don't know what their so worried about, once you have played enough matches, it takes a lot of matches with a lowerer than average k/d... I understand for those trying to keep their top % ranking... But are you really a top % player if your not playing each other...I mean your fighting over each others spot anyways... Or why even consider yourself one of the best....

1 RespuestaKilling lower level players? LOL!!! LEVEL DOESNT MATTER! ITS SKILL! When I started on ps4 (last xmas) I was a level 2 with the starting gun and starting sniper. I would go 30-9 every game top of my team. This was in the thorn era too. Level doesn't equal skill.

I just don't want every single match that I play to be sweaty. I want to have fun and play relaxed. Instead, I'm stuck with a bunch of tryhards and am forced to play competitively in every single gamemode except trials. That's why I don't like SBMM.

SBMM is aids in every game its ever been in. Nobody likes playing in a lobby where everyone goes barely positive or just negative. It isnt enjoyable and I spend more time showering after games than actually playing.

He lag is the biggest issue but I'm sure people don't wanna play highly skilled matches all the time. If you are great at the game you deserve to slaughter bad players who aren't. I don't think they should match a team vs randoms to pub stomp, but if you go in solo and you are better than everyone else you should dominate. It's fair competition because you can be matched with anyone.

I'm actually fine with playing sweaties all day, but the lag simply HAS to go. They claim to be combining the two tomorrow morning, so I'll be testing that out for verification.

Pvp is best with a random mix of different players and you get a better idea of where you stand altogether. With sbmm you could get better over time but you wouldn't know because you just keep getting matched up against the same level of players who just always seem about the same skill level. There is no variety with sbmm and no variety makes things stale, which is exactly how a lot of players are describing thier experience as of late.

You know, I'm really not trying to piss anybody off, or insult anybody. It just gets old. I would really like to play some crucible when Iron Banner is not going. I really enjoy Iron Banner where my light level gives me a bit of an edge against some players. Actually I should say it helps level things. I have actually finished 1st in Iron Banner and have gotten as many as 35 kills in a game. (Damn near fainted) I am not asking for easy wins or easy kills, just a chance. I don't get that without SBMM in normal crucible. Is that really that hard to understand? I can see what is being said about constant sweaty matches for higher level players. But it seems that you don't understand that those of us with lower ability, have that exact thing happen every match just trying to stay alive, let alone get any kills. I guess none of this really matters, as it appears that you got what you wanted. I will go back to my normal not playing crucible. Lower level players will face the better and not enjoy the crucible experience. But when you really come down to it, you getting what you wanted makes the PVP side of the game not fun for a large number of the community. Anyway, for those that I pissed off with my challenge, my apologies.

Seems that those that don't like my challenge resort to the normal, your a scrub shit. So, that being said, let me clear something up for everybody. 1. Yep, I'm a scrub. (Did you really think calling me that all time bothered me in any way?) 2. Yep, I don't play much crucible. (Because of being matched with those that I have no chance against.) (which is pretty much everybody) 3. Yep, I'm a scrub. 4. SBMM was a crutch. (For opening a whole new side of the game for those with my limitations.) 5. Yep, I'm a scrub. 6. I believe that Bungie imposed SBMM, to give limited skill players a chance to enjoy crucible. 7. Yep, I'm a scrub. 8. Without SBMM I will not play crucible. (Its just not fun.) 9. Finally, Yep, I'm a scrub. Everybody happy now?

1 RespuestaYou need to watch game theory they posted an introduction to online lag. Destiny runs off p2p mechanics no one takes it seriously competitively. Connection priority is the only way to play crucible. Also no one takes your post seriously. Tldr; OP is a scrub.

The truth is that these so called elite players are just angry because now they have to work to keep their precious KD up. Bungie will always go with the decision that benefits the largest amount of players so SBMM is here to stay. The update today is not going to change that it's only going to try and solve the lag issue we are having now. I'm enjoying the tight competitive games I'm having lately instead of the horrible blowouts before TTK. If you are really good you should accept the challenge of competing with people of your same skill level. By complaining you're already demonstrating that you are not.
