When TTK released, there was a great fracturing of the Destiny player base and this online community as well as some moved into year 2 and others did not.
There had been similar occurrences with the 2 previous expansions, but what made TTK so much more divisive was the fact that not only was it the closest Destiny has come to the game that should have released, but it also removed and locked out the most content for those who didn't upgrade.
With TDB and HoW, not upgrading meant occasionally not getting to run a Nightfall or Weekly. It didn't preclude you being max level or losing game modes outright.
TTK gutted the experience. No Nightfall. Limited to classic PvP playlists. Level capped at 34, so no Iron Banner, no Trials, no endgame faction gear. And with the addition of SRL... No Racing.
I'm not writing this to debate what should our shouldn't have happened, because there is no debate, the approach was wrong.
The reason I am writing this is to ask Bungie to try to make things right in the spirit of the holidays. Even when we don't see eye to eye, we're still a community and Christmas is a unique time of the year when we tend to (hopefully) put the needs of others above our own and be a bit more sensitive to the humanity we're all a part of, so it is my hope that maybe Bungie can take this time to mend some bridges with players who were left behind in year 2.
What I propose is that for the rest of the month, Bungie
- Open up SRL to everyone regardless of if they own TTK or not.
- Open up TTK PvP playlists to all non-TTK players
I don't see how this can do anything but benefit this game. So many of us have friends lists that used to be full of people playing Destiny, but have been whittled down with each passing expansion. This is a chance to allow our friends who have moved on to come see what you've done to improve things, to experience SRL, as well as Mayhem and RIFT, and to play the new PvP maps again and hopefully draw some old friends back into this world.
I would think that all the reward drops just sitting, waiting to be equipped upon upgrading would be a big incentive to fully upgrade as well (and I read in a post TTK no longer costs $40 as well, not sure if that is factual).
So what do you all think? Should there be Christmas #racingforall?
Thank-you.

1 RespuestaEditado por Lizard King: 12/15/2015 10:39:38 AMI have zero intension of going back to Destiny for the sake of sparrow racing. I deleted Destiny from my PS4 long ago , yet every updated forces itself as a reinstalled app. Why is this happening is out of my mind. But in order for me to gain back , they need to do way way more then what . Starting with delivering the actual game they advertised , the game we all paid for :) Ad one very wrong information buried in your post. With TDB and HOW every player were able to run nightfall. Non purchasers were only locked out when Nightfall was for the DLC they didn't purchased.

Yeah this ain't happening cuz of activison.

If they ever come out with a racing mode that includes weapons they better call it the Race Wars!

it's definitely not Christmas.

People that don't have ttk still play? What do you guys even do?

1 RespuestaAt this point, you're a -blam!-ing idiot if you haven't bought TTK yet are somehow still playing destiny.

2 RespuestasI like this idea. But would they be able to use the loot?

7 RespuestasI vote no.

Bump In an ideal world, they would listen to people like you who try to meet in the middle. I am way past that point. Came on today after the news of $30 TTK Legendary Edition popped up and...still no positive news in terms of the evolution of the game or how Bungievision works...same ol same ol. Cheers

1 RespuestaBut, they wouldn't be able to use anything they won. It would all be lvl 40 and they can't get to lvl 40. It would be like getting into a fancy resturant, but you can't eat anything.
-
5 RespuestasToo bad that will never happen. If you don't own TTK by now it's pretty much your own fault for not being able to save $40.

Editado por --KNIGHT--: 12/15/2015 2:46:40 PMIt's a good idea. But people left for a clear reason

4 RespuestasActually if the person in the Fireteam has the taken King and "hosts" it other non ttk players CAN race.

The entire game should be essentially free at this point since it has less content than some free to play games I've played. And thats no joke. Compared to other mmo's (I wouldn't call destiny an mom, but whatever some have) destiny is $60 for at most several weeks of playtime, the rest playtime is grinding raids to get better gear. At most there is about three to four hours of "story" in the game.

1 Respuesta100% agree, this should be a thing.
