I've been doing a LOT of retro gaming the last few months. Fallout, Battlefront and Destiny are gathering dust on my shelf. Super Mario 64, ocarina of time and Sonic 3 have been getting a lot of attention though. Today's games just...aren't that fun. They demand massive amounts of time, energy and focus, and they are becoming more expensive(almost by the day).
I just want games to be fun to play again.

I agree. I like playing Diablo 3 though because I can fire it up, play a few nephalem rifts, and get off. I would recommend Fire Emblem Awakening and Animal Crossing if you have a 3DS.

Actually considering that the price of a game hasn't changed in 15 years, it's actually getting cheaper and cheaper. The only way they can go around this is by offering dlc
-
Unless you live in Canada like i do. We pay $75-$80 plus tax for a new game now.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that because of the fact that my country made the game and it costs money to offer it to other countries?
-
Mass effect was made in Canada and it cost as much as Destiny so I'm really not sure where you are going with that comment
-
Besides that probably being false, you have free healthcare. Stop complaining.
-
What? Bioware is based in Edmonton Alberta. I can literally walk to their offices from my apartment.
-
Ok so after researching a little bit I've found that the exchange rate and your tax rate are partially to blame as well as the exaggeration of the exchange rate to make more money.
-
Well that part isn't surprising.
-
My apologies. I meant that my information regarding regulations being the reason they are more expensive is probably false.
-
The comment was made because to my limited knowledge the simple fact that you have import and export rules regarding digital and disk sales meaning I assume that if its exported to another country it is a little more expensive due to all the regulations that you must go through as a company. That is all.

Nonsense, video game sales have been on the rise for the last 20 years. Even factoring in the increased development costs, the fact that the total revenue per year has gone from 7.5 billion a year to over 30 billion says something about how much money is flying around. Even if the cost stayed the same, there are far more people playing and with all the cut content/DLC/preorder incentive BS flying around I fully expect revenue to skyrocket.

He means cost of development...
-
Amen to that.
