Okay so I've taken a good 3 month break from Destiny, but upon hearing about the SRL I decided that I would come back and try it out since I'm a fan of racing modes/ games. Turns out that it's actually quite fun, I just finished my first race and came in first and i enjoyed it. So where is this going you might ask? Well let me tell you in one word... Loot. Second place got a shader, good for you, third place got a rare horn, good stuff. What'd I get?? A blue engram.... Now normally, I'd suck my teeth, maybe an eye roll , say whatever and get on with life. BUT THEN I saw last place and what did they get? A blue engram AND a legendary helmet, but the real kicker is... this individual didn't even finish the race.... to the point where after I finished the race and was waiting for it to end, I lapped them. And seeing as this was my very first race I doubt he was someone in a license class way above me for better rewards, it's possible but out of all the people playing destiny and trying SRL I very much doubt it. Now I know this has been a long time issue with loot, but that's still no reason to be complacent with it happening. Yes I raced and had fun, but one of the reasons to race is also for the rewards. The fact that someone can actually work to try to place in top 3 and receive less than someone who won't even finish takes that little bit of wind out of the sails. It's been a year and 3 months, I know the game has big pressing issues, but this rewards has been a problems since the beginning and like I said...it's been a year...and three months......kinda hard to believe a place vs reward threshold couldn't have been created and implemented in all this time. To be honest it's a little insulting to those who do enjoy the game and try to make the most out of what Bungie has given them. Because why work when you can earn by doing nothing....but why play if you're going to do nothing ? P.S. Earned a legendary helmet off the second race...so it's still very possible to get one off the first race.
