My Problem with Sparrow Racing/Eververse
My plea: Please don't be biased and look at this objectively.
I'm really tired of Bungie.. and Destiny. Our countless pleas for Dedicated Servers for PvP, Custom Games, PvE Events and more unique quests have been (Donald) trumped by... Sparrow Racing?
I understand that Eververse profits have been used to fuel the "Live Team" (whatever the hell they do) and their projects. When many of you guys have spent $5 on a dance in a video game, I'm sure they have plenty of cash to run the "Live Team".
Now Sparrow Racing... Why was this done? Many people [i]HAVE[/i] requested it in [b][i]VANILLA DESTINY[/i][/b]. No one has been asking for it recently because we've had way bigger problems. 1 PvE event over 15 Months and the last one was in May. Servers are shit as always. Custom Games are a simple setup to competitive play and just having fun with friends... Challenge modes, 1v1 Rust(ed Lands) etc. Also quests, more quests have not been added since No Time To Explain was made available. Many quests like the Sleeper Simulant and Touch of Malice were great. Why couldn't bungie sprinkle a few of those with some new missions for free?
Sparrow racing isn't a bad thing... But instead, a horrible joke and basically a plea for microtransaction money for the "Live Team". $10 for a Record Book? Replacing new emotes and making the others available in $5 packs relying on RNG to get the ones you want? Honestly, Bungie your microtransaction system is awful, why can't you price out the emotes instead of making Silver come in packs? You specifically made the silver packs come out with left over nearly every time just to make on edge kids spend more.
If I wanted to race I'd go play GT or NFS not Destiny. All the sparrows are the same so there's no point getting anything else. 320 armor for Sparrow Racing? I think this is the biggest joke of them all (besides the $10 Record Book), first of all... You don't even need armor for sparrow racing. Second, why didn't you make it at 200 light but Infusable? I just don't understand Bungie.
TL;DR - Sparrow Racing is a joke and the "Live Team" should have worked on something else.

I'm disgusted at playstation network for preloading the Taken king in to my console without consent and without an order. I'm disguted the way the manipulate my account to test ideas and the arrogance of not having a pause or save..bloody arrogant..you would add far more value if a save facility was enabled . The orginal concept was pretty interesting and offered scope,but i dont know who is directing the concept,but their rubbish a waisted idea so far..TTK, is essentially yhe same as the Dark Below.thecDark below is essentially the Same as Destiny Inparticular the the Sparrow racing physics is bloody dreadful..it really does come across as really quite lazy and by exstention greedy and cynical,its so sloppy,and yoy have to pay more for it?? I've gotten first and second places third places on several only to fund myself demoted ? Why is this ? Because someone spent silver( money) and I have'nt I would say destiny is a missed oppounity..someone announced some "groundbreaking" game concept and choked because they did'nt know how to deliver it..and backed of..cobbled together something crossed their fingers. There's some good things,details..; the wrapons physics the. There's real dross.."The mock eypgtian crap"- awful uninventive , dull..the ovbious cultural influneces starwars, the Culuture Novels ..all to obvious ..good thing..some details about the taken..vut to ge honest ,it should be exspected..perhaps i'm ignorant of the limits..but, i 've been a gamer all my life and i've really not seen anything change on 15 years..

I agree completely Sparrow racing is a cool gimmick That has been talked about especially early on in destiny But id prefer more usable content, especially when the core features are lacking

Everyone is able to claim the rewards from the srl record book in Eververse without purchasing it. Simply press Y (on xbox) on the book from the eververse trading company and scroll across the goals that are shown. Then press A or X on completed goals while viewing the book. Remember, those goals must be completed to get the rewards. Go profit.

2 RespuestasAll I know some people spend 100 dollars on Halloween for the skull,, I don't care how much money u have in my books u stupid spending that kind of money just to use it once,, what happen to the skull don't see anyone wear it now,,any event that has micro transactions is a bad thing,, I wouldnt mind to pay 5 dollars for 5-6 new maps for PvP cose I will be playing them all the time, but paying money for a freaking emote and sparrows is just stupid

5 RespuestasI believe it will be fun, for the first hour... but after that, you'll soon see that the grind will wear on you and the pressure to purchase a book and/or whatever items you can't get will weigh on you. If you think anything else, you're kidding yourself. Bungie are the kings of manipulation and know quite well how many of you will throw your disposable money at the TV because you are addicted to this game and the need to have the most sought after items made of pixels. You can defend yourself by saying you can do whatever you want with your money, and by all means go right ahead. But the reality is that doesn't make you a genuine and respectable player, because bottom line... you are not. Games are meant to be played. If you have to buy shit because you were too lazy to acquire it, then you're a schmuck. Any smart person will see that this event is simply a marketing gateway for you to open your wallets and hand over more cash. I like new content, but until Bungie comes out from behind the wall and seriously gives us playable content without the greedy cash smile, I'll hold back my gracious "thank you" for them. Shame on you, Bungie... again. For providing new content with a hidden cash value agenda. Shame.

5 RespuestasCompletely agree, the next time we get an event that isn't a micro-transaction focused event will be... The next Iron Banner. These events fund the next cash grab event, that is all. People say "Oh, it's a business!" or "It's just cosmetic!", those are the people who are sheep, and companies like Bungie love these people, because they're the ones more likely to pay for stupid shit every time an event comes around. Festival of the Lost paid for Sparrow Racing, Sparrow racing will pay for the next micro-transaction focused event, and the cycle will continue. I really feel like they put more effort into making emotes and cash grab events than they have anything, in a really long time. Sparrow racing is a great idea, but this is just another cash grab targeted to make people feel as though they will never be able to obtain a certain item ever again, just like the emotes were with Festival of the Lost, so they will sell more that way, it's the reason it's only lasting 3 weeks. Next time(if it ever comes around again), I guarantee there will be different items for a limited time. It's psychology at it's finest, but you're not going to get anywhere with this argument on the forums, too many white knights coming to defend Bungie, like always.

They told everyone exactly what was happening with the old emotes. Your fault if you waited. They're completely unnecessary anyway, so why do you really care?

It is a new free mode that adds to the player experience. What's not to like about free content? Also if you do not want to play, the mode is entirely optional. Think of it like festival of the lost. You will lose nothing by choosing not to participate. It simply is a new addition to the world of destiny to make the world feel fresh and lively and less repetitive. As far as the micro transactions go, I see no problem as long as they stay cosmetic (which they will according to Deej and Cozmo). As players buy these limited emotes from eververse, Bungie makes more money. If Bungie is making money , then they will be encouraged to add more events free events like SRL and Festival of the lost. More events makes the world of Destiny feel alive and less repetitive , what's wrong with that? Tl;dr SRL is a free optional event that makes the world of destiny feel alive and less stale.

4 Respuestasif your really looking at this objectively, then you should realize this is all a bonus being done with no obligation. they didnt have to do this. but they did, and guess what? its free too! free new content that is what people have always wanted; objectively, that is great! and even better; its granting an alternative option for gaining 320 light gear. micro-transactions are completely optional: they are harmless and do nothing really if you buy it or dont. does that mean i dont want those other things? obviously i want those, just like everybody else! but does that mean this thing (SRL) is evil and bad and wrong because its not those things? no.

I hadn't tried it yet, but it could be cool. Keep in mind they are offering a variety of things other than just shooting at shit. Bringing up servers is moot, because it costs money and is not the Activision way. Don't ever expect dedicated servers. Unless you want to the pay a subscription...

The live team is there to bring us monthly events, new type of events. The other team is responsible for the DLC and working on it. Do you really want them to throw out a rushed DLC like the dark below last year? Dry months in Destiny? Gtfo to play something else. Its not like there aint other great games out there. New content hits and then come back. Same like me and 1000s of other ppl.
