Well I WAS gonna come back
I was gonna come back to destiny to check out sparrow racing, race some friends, and earn loot in the process. Then I saw that this is just another cash grab. To think I actually thought Bungie made something free to the players especially after cashing in on microtransactions, LOL. This is the nail in the coffin for destiny, at least for me. The thing that sickens me most is they go around saying FREE EVENT IN DESTINY!! And then in small print whispering "oh but if you want any of the gear then bend over" -blam!-n Bungie man, disappointment after disappointment
Edit: I care that they add microtransactions everywhere now
Edit: People think I care if it's pay to win, I do, but that's not the point. I CARE ABOUT THE PRACTICES BUNGIE IS USING! There shouldn't be this many microtransactions in a AAA game
Edit: The problem for me lies with people accepting and glorifying Bungie for microtransactions. This glorification of a shit system could give Bungie the confidence to keep pushing the boundaries with microtransactions and yes THIS is jumping to conclusions

6 RespuestasThere is no requirement to pay. Nothing you get if you pay gives you a benefit. So far Bungie has lived up to its promise that all silver transactions are purely cosmetic.

2 RespuestasWhy do you need to buy stuff for racing? You get the legendary helmets and class items from racing and the other legendary gear comes from rank up toolkits. Literally nothing has to be bought. They even give you two free sparrows (one if on xbox).

For a game to keep severs up and keep adding content (paided and non-paided) on a month(ish) bases, they need a source of income. And believe it or not, a developer does not make much off their product if signed with a pulbisher. Sure, Destiny sold a shit ton more than $500 million, but after selling $500 million worth of copies, a developer won't start pocketing all the sells - the publisher needs to profit off of this. With micro-transactions, the developer pockets all the cash - not a cent goes to the publisher. With this alternate source of income, they can keep doing what they're doing. Now, what the developer does with these micro-transactions, its up to them. No where in there a statement saying "if you add micro-transactions, its needs to be P2W". But if the developer decides to go run down this route, its their fault. Destiny, on the other hand, is not P2W. You can still enter the event, play the event (till the end), receives awards from the event, and you cannot buy anything (with cash) that will give you in unfair advantage over other players. If you want to buy anything from the cash shop, than more power to you; you are actually what is keeping Destiny breathing. And if you don't, then just play the game and have fun. You will not miss out on any cool gear if you don't buy anything.

Running through Amanda Holiday's SRL quest will get you a full set of legendary SRL gear and a new legendary sparrow. The "loot" gear you get from the log book is crap and good for nothing more than dismantling for legendary marks. No new sparrows have significantly better performance than the others. I ran through the entire quest using my old EV-32 rare-upgraded to legendary sparrow with the Emerald Coil drive. Note - for SRL light level means nothing. The legendary gear (other than helmets) have zero light, but they do have perks that help with the racing if you level them up. The main reason for racing (other than fun) is the possibility of high light level drops up to 320 (helmets) as you move up in the SRL rankings. Also, if you pop ToC, you can get Exotics for race completions. Not bad for 5 minutes of work. Merry Christmas!

I play destiny....i enjoy it I also fully agree with OP This game is turning into something i don't like...where's the story? The grit? It's like nick jr took over my beloved game

Lol the gear is only at 3 light lvl and you can get the same exact stats on random drops, nightfall drops sparrow packages and the new sparrows only look cool and don't do anything special
