So I have been running the no Knight strat. But because I am a solo gamer, I use lfg and I inevitably join teams that want to do the normal strat. I have learned to adapt and have no problem with either.
Yesterday I join a team of 5 (good players, cool guys, and already a team) that wanted to do the "kill night, no ogres" strategy.
I immediately said "I've never run that strategy but I will try not to be the weak link."
Took us about four runs, and it turned out to be pretty easy, really. So here it is:
It is a mix of the two strategies. Once Oryx slams his fist to begin the relic running, three players get on the first three plates. The two Titans go to mid (on the ground, between the pillars) to draw the aggro. Runner does his thing.
Plate holders simply hide in the back and don't touch ogres, while waiting for the knights to spawn.
Titans kill all 4 Ogres.
Each plate holder kills one of the Knights, and one of the Titans in the middle kills the other. (Line of sight for the Titan can be shaky here, so Communication is at a premium, and a nearby player needs to be ready to toss a grenade, snipe or rocket at this knight on occasion) Everybody goes to mid, staggers Oryx, clears adds for 2 secs, then detonates their blight. (The Titan that killed the knight will now detonate that blight)
Back to mid to dps Oryx. Rinse and repeat
I am not saying this is the easiest or best method. But it is an alternative, and very effective, method.
(It was a Fresh run. Raid Team were all 314 and below, with ToM and Black Spindle. We had 3 Titans, 2 warlocks, and a Hunter.)
(I ran with this team and when it was over they disappeared into the moonlight, vanished just like a dream. But a voice told me to share this strat before it faded away. I could not find their names on my recent players list. Was this a VISION of a challenge yet to come? Who knows...)
Edit:
just kiddin, I friended all of them :)
Edut too:
apparently I'm dumb and I've been talking about the normal strat this whole time. Nothing to see here move along
3 Respuestaswhat you're describing is regular old 'kill knight' strategy. some teams run it with the Titans up top, other teams run it with them down in the middle. those on the plates don't _have_ to do any damage to their ogres, if the Titans run weapons/blessings the ogres absolutely melt away.
-
1 RespuestaYeah, this is the normal strategy, the only difference is that those on the platforms just aren't helping with killing the ogres.
-
Don't get on the hamster wheel is my personal favorite. Grind the raid to get better things to grind the raid again to prepare for grinding the raid....on hard
-
1 RespuestaIt's not new, It's basically no knight. But whatever the group wants to do. It's good to know all of them when running with randoms. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a good clan since getting on the xb1

1 RespuestaEditado por J1bber: 12/2/2015 8:09:21 PMHow is this different than the regular kill knight strat? The only difference I see is that the titans are on bottom, which I think is less preferable than being up top. there is less fire from adds and that los problem you were mentioning is not a problem from up top.

2 RespuestasIts called the galaxy strategy...
-
1 RespuestaI aint sure if im reading that correctly but what your describing is actually just the knight strat not a 3rd way of doing it :s
-
1 RespuestaNot sure if i missed something but that IS the "normal" strat. 2 titans stack bubbles weapons/blessing and kill all orgers.1 titan takes care of knight #4.

7 RespuestasPeople are going to be in trouble when oryx is the challenge boss and they have to do things normally.
-
1 RespuestaThats not a third strategy, thats just the normal strategy.
-
3 RespuestasPeople still working out full team strategys meanwhile Turner tfue is 90% finished of solo'ing oryx

3 RespuestasWas it 4 British guys and a chick?
-
3 RespuestasI prefer no knight, I've never beat it the normal way and I've beat it 4 times using No Knight
-
This sounds like the normal way of doing it. The only difference I see is that the middle guys kill the ogres instead of the plate guys. And that sounds like it would make it harder
-
I feel like this may be a safer alternative to the normal, kill knight strat. A lot of teams may already be doing this and just calling it the normal strat, which is legit. I have always associated the normal strategy as being the first one that we knew of really, when we first beat Oryx on hard mode. This one seems to be a bit of a hybrid...
-
1 RespuestaSounds like a rework of the original strategy.
-
3 RespuestasYou basically described the "normal" strategy...I don't see anything new from what you mentioned...
