Yes, that is less than half of it. I got tired of copying and pasting. Figured that was enough. There is a Koran verse about jihad that says God prefers those who participate with their lives and wealth over those who stay home, with the exception of the physically disabled, who get a pass. Considering the spin that jihad was meant to be a personal, internal struggle of faith ... Why would the physically disabled get a pass from that? Simple answer - ISIS is pretty much dead-on accurate in most of its interpretations.

Quran 5:32 he whosoever kills an innocent man it shall be as if he has killed all of mankind and he who saves one innocent life it shall be as if he has saved all mankind. In one passage the Quran takes away all justification for the taking of a life. Jihad is not a way of war but of a way of internal struggle and overcoming the bad to be worthy of Allah.
-
"Innocent". Atrocities are ok if the victims aren't "innocent"
-
In context of a war 'Innocent' doesn't refer to just bystanders but all who are not actively attacking Muslims wether they be Christian,Catholic,Jew or otherwise. Traditionally a war with Islam is a very personal thing they only attack and kill those that are attacking and trying to kill them. You could have a British citizen stood next to a British soldier and the only one that the Muslim would kill is the soldier attempting to kill them war is almost a personal battle for them and if you aren't trying to kill them they don't attempt to kill you. Clearly groups such as IsIs are not following this code and are instead trying to kill any and all they can wether they are involved or not.
-
So explain how people shouting "god is great" in Arabic shoot into crowds. Maybe that's the case for some of them. But you are simply delusional if you think that is true for all of them.
-
Sorry for my post it wasn't very explanatory. What I was trying get across is that for the vast majority war in or against Islam is meant to be a personal battle in which Muslims fight only those directly attempting them harm. They don't generalise that 'All' of the group is bad I.E if they are being attacked by American soldiers they will fight and kill those soldiers but they don't lay the blame onto American citizens just the soldiers they are facing. This has been corrupted and turned on its head where now simply being an American or western citizen is enough to these Zealots to justify your death. Find any True Muslim and they will tell you the same Jihad is not a justification for killing it is a shield cowards hide behind to justify their killings. Anyone that kills either in the name of their religion or the God of that religion not only goes against the religion but also the God of it both Christianity and Islam make many more calls for peace then they do for War and anybody who values life should know that a call for peace outweighs a cry for war.
-
What's the quran's definition of an innocent man?
-
All these rationalizations - it is like if Eric Cartman said "kiss my butt", a religion sprang up around it, and 1400 years later, you have people "explaining" how "kiss my butt" actually means help strangers, rescue kittens from trees, feed the poor - anything but "kiss my butt."
-
Ahhhh.... Christianity?
-
True and either way I'm not religious I just find it funny how so many religions are told even by their own holy books to be peaceful and yet they will use quotes of war or fighting to justify killing either on behalf of their religion or in the name of their God. To me a call for peace trumps a hundred calls to war if it is on behalf of a deity if God wants someone dead let him get blood on his hands I'll keep mine clean.

Editado por OurWildebeest: 11/25/2015 3:03:20 PMYes, I realize there are elaborate justifications for the concept that jihad is actually an internal struggle and all the talk of slaughter, beheading etc is merely symbolic. So, does that mean Mohammed thought the physically disabled are not capable of an inner faith journey? I ask because 4:95 exempts the physically disabled from jihad. As for not killing innocents - an innocent was a Muslim, or a "person of the book" (Christian) who was not given an opportunity to convert. You may not recall that shortly before 9/11, Osama bin Laden made a video calling for Americans to turn to Islam. That is why. He was checking the "given an opportunity" box. But what about Muslims killed in the attacks, you may ask? Simple, they are "hypocrites" because they are not actively fighting the infidels. (See quoted verses re: hypocritical believers). If by some chance a true Muslim got accidentally killed, for example a lone wolf jihadist who was planning a suicide bombing on 9/12, that is also OK because he will be rewarded in paradise along with the hijackers. Bukhari (52:256) - The Prophet... was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, "They (i.e. women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans)."

That's what people don't understand. They don't realize how they (some) rationalize violence. It's not like you can say that and everything changes

Editado por OurWildebeest: 11/25/2015 11:21:27 PMOn Islam, we practice doublespeak. Up is down, yes is no. The Koran clearly, literally, in plain language, numerous times, says Muslims should kill infidels, specifically suggesting beheading and cutting off fingertips. We say "terrorists are not real Muslims, they are perverting a religion of peace." But in reality, that IS what the Koran says to do. You can "interpret" it all you want, it is right there. And that is not true to nearly the same extent with any other large religion I am aware of. I am sometimes not sure which people know that but want to spin it, and which people have fallen for the spin. The easy thing to say is "it is what the believers make of it, all religions have good and bad aspects," but if you actually read the texts, it isn't in the same ballpark, or solar system. Unless you understand someone's motives, how do you fight them? We approach it like ISIS is crazy scam artists fooling the gullible into giving them money and power. But it appears to me that for the most part, ISIS, Osama bin Laden, that whole world honestly believes they are doing God's work, and an "interpretation"-free direct reading of the Koran lines up with what they are doing.
-
And the only reason Christianity is not so easy to draw violent interpretations from is because it got a makeover to modernise it. Or several. Islam has not been updated yet and is still thousands of years out of date.

Editado por OurWildebeest: 11/25/2015 3:35:48 PMThe Old Testament was written between 500 BC and 1000 BC. It is actually Judaism, but was carried forward when Christianity came into existence. The New Testament (actual main book of Christianity) was written between 50 AD and 150 AD. The Koran was written between 600 AD and 650 AD. There was no "Christianity" before "Christ," which means 1 AD to 33 AD. I think people often assume Islam sprang up completely separately from Christianity or possibly with some shared Judaic history, but that is far from how it happened. Each text is thoroughly aware of the prior ones on this list. Muslims believe the New Testament was corrupted after Jesus was physically lifted to heaven (not crucified), and that Mohammed was actually restoring Jesus' true message. They believe unscrupulous people after Jesus left Earth rewrote some of his history to create a religion giving them power. So it is literally accurate to say that Islam is meant to be an update of Christianity, which they consider a blasphemous religion. Did you know, the Koran names Jesus more times than it names Mohammed, and includes the story of Jesus' virgin birth, and Jesus' miracles? According to the Koran, Jesus is a Muslim, never actually claimed divinity, and on judgment day will deny the claim. The standard Muslim belief (though not explicitly stated in the Koran) is that in the end times, Jesus will return to Earth and physically defeat Satan.

And buddy you are clearly googling something like this : why Christianity is right and Islam is wrong. Why not go ahead and search the exact opposite

Editado por OurWildebeest: 11/25/2015 8:16:37 PMWhat in this post do you think makes Christianity right, and what in this post do you think makes Islam wrong? Not one word in this post is positive or negative about either religion. Happy to provide you links for any specific items that you don't know how to look up on your own.

I only read one sentence and it was wrong that is why I'm upset
-
Are you still thinking the "Jesus will defeat Satan" sentence is wrong? http://www.islamreligion.com/articles/363/return-of-jesus-part-1/ http://p2alm.com/2014/04/13/the-islamic-teaching-of-the-final-battle-between-christ-and-the-antichrist/ http://www.discoveringislam.org/return_of_jesus.htm Could give more, but I am guessing you will just repeat "no it's wrong" without checking.

Dude you gotta read the Quran and read real hadiths not from any of these random misleading sites..
-
I have. My top-level post in this thread is 100% Koran and Hadith verses. Maybe you should? This "Jesus in Islam" stuff is not really controversial. It is standard, everyday belief. These "random sites" are a) Muslim, b) describing mainstream Muslim views. What would you believe? Here is my last attempt, wikipedia. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_in_Islam In the "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink" category.
-
Editado por Snackbar: 11/25/2015 8:09:23 PMBruh I literally only read the last sentence and it was false
-
What are you talking about? I really hope you aren't Muslim too because we do believe that on the day of judgement a man will come and claim that he is God He will have amazing powers and be able to bring those who are dead back, and fill everyone with happiness and the feeling as if they serve an important role However, he will lie, for he is a test, a fake prophet True believers in God will see a mark over one of his eyes, showing that he is lying Those who stay faithful will be there when our Prophet Isa (Jesus in modern English/Religion) will appear, and he will kill the false prophet and blow a horn, signaling that the day of Judgement has officially begun

I just wanted to point out that dajjal is not shaytan
