My life sucks, advice?
My life sucks and it's really shitty. My dads gotten into trouble with police, I've been abused and the only way I can escape the stress of my life coming to end is by playing destiny. Got any advice on something I could do to just forgot my life and be happy?

I grew up with 5 younger brothers with just my mom in a trailer park in rural MO. I didnt finish high school. But when I was 17, I decided I was better than that. I got my GED and used the military to escape. I worked hard and learned as much as I could for my entire term. I earned my honorable discharge and the world opened up. I was able to get my associates, then bachelor's, and eventually masters degree paid for courtesy of the US navy. Then spent another few years grinding until I got a job that I enjoy. Im not rich, but am decidedly middle class which is miles from where I started. Your family and upbringing do not define you. I know this won't help much if you're years away from escape but I spent my 13-17 age working out, playing music, and away from trouble. Hope you make it out.

6 RespuestasBeen there before. My dad has been in and out of jail for years. Most of his issues happened while I was in middle school and high school. It used to bother me but a coach of mine told me two things that stayed with me to this day. 1. You are not your father. You are your own man and you will walk your own path. Let that define you and not your father. 2. Choose your attitude. It's up to you wether you want to be miserable and let things bring you down.

Join a gym that trains MMA or some form of combat sport and take your aggression and whatever else you have inside you and let it out on someone else for sport. Helped me keep myself out of trouble. Worth a shot anyways if you're seriously asking.

Learn to love what you have. With that said the abuse is not okay. Hidden camera video tape it and send it in. The evidence speaks for itself with a video. Educate yourself so you can get into a position where you are able to make changes and real world changes to the system so more people don't end up in the same situation. I'm just rambling...

Limit game playing and focus on figuring out what you want out of life. Once you figure that out start putting a plan together (with multiple various streams or contingencies) and work on it. Start small to maintain the sense of progress. Remember, you are never a failure in life, you have only failed at trying something!

Tell the police he tried to have sex with you and an underage girl. Contact the police and child protective services or tell an adult you trust at school, such as a counselor. If you tell the police or someone about what's going on, they'll most likely help you and possibly get you and your mother out and away from your piece of shit father.
