BO3 vs. Destiny - First Impressions
I played some Black Ops 3 this morning. Here are some of my thoughts.
1. Destiny's gunplay is FAR superior to BO3. I grabbed a semi-auto rifle in BO3 and played with it for about an hour, and it doesn't even compare to the satisfaction I get from my Suros DIS-43. Time to kill is so low in BO3 that it almost doesn't even matter what gun you use, and there is little subtlety as you switch from weapon to weapon.
2. BO3 has better game modes. For starters, you can create custom matches with or without bots, you can host custom LAN PvP games, and zombie mode is a riot. I'd love to see custom games and cooperative "wave" style game modes in Destiny.
3. Motion mechanics in BO3 feel gimmicky - sure, running on walls is cool and all, but it's usually not practical. I think Destiny provides more movement variety without the gimmicks.
4. BO3 has special class "supers" much like Destiny, but they are typically less powerful and game-changing. Not sure which I like better.
5. I really like how BO3 rewards you for getting kill-streaks - you can call in UAVs, missile strikes, controllable rotorcraft drones, etc. In Destiny, you get a Shaxx voiceover, and that's about it. It's more satisfying to get streaks when there are game-affecting perks for doing so.
Overall, BO3 is fun and offers a handful of differentiating features. But Destiny's superior gun mechanics mean that BO3 won't hurt it much. At least, it won't pull me away indefinitely.

Too bad one game is an endless grind and gets reset every couple of months, with a gazillion useless currencies. And Bo3 is pure fun what needs to be compared here?

1 RespuestaThere is no sense in comparing mechanics and guns.... Destiny is always Laging... Even in trials... Their servers are shit... Fps games should not lag and in 2 year the problem is still here and it's even worse now. I'm having tons of fun with BO3, no lag, no "connecting to server" messages... Bo3 is out, then fallout 4 then battle front and the division... Yesterday my friend list in destiny was empty (from 100 now only 5/6 where playing destiny)... Everyone else is on COD, or some other game.

I completely disagree. Although the Ttk in cod is a lot higher than I would like. Close or medium range a semi beats an auto everytime. The gun play in cod is far, far superior than anything in Destiny. I am so tired of the blink shotgun, the rediculous grenades, heavy ammo completely turning the tables, and supers that can delete the entire team with no downside. Cod makes you gunfight to win. Your "super" does not make you take insane amounts of damage while killing everything, you can be killed just as easily as everyone else. Everything about cod MP wrecks what is in Destiny. And I would rather play zombies for 3 hours for fun than do another Destiny raid that is not fun and get nothing out of it but wasted time. Destiny is dead to me which I am pretty sad about

I've bought bo3 to play as I feel I'm running drying on destiny at the moment Once HD raid is complete I'm struggling to find anything worth doing which sorta rings alarm bells as I Wud of thought TTK content would of lasted a lot longer, it was the cost of a new game after all If you had bought a new game and run out of content this quick, you'd be pissed! I really enjoy destiny and I'll probably use bo3 as a temporary go-to, have saying that - ya never know eh?

4 RespuestasI couldn't disagree more with your first point. I feel the gunplay is far superior in BO3 so far. Mainly due to the fact that I can use whatever weapon I feel is best for me and still have a chance to kill whoever, regardless of what they are using. Because they're actually balanced. I feel that it's more about skill and less about using the best weapons. Which I prefer any day to being forced to use the meta of Destiny PvP.

Definitely agree on those movement mechanics. I haven't played the game yet and may not buy it, but from the streams I've watched, I find it really ridiculous that you could theoretically run around the entire map on a wall.

Destiny - no problem connecting online Blops3 - can't get on the server on either multiplayer or zombie. The disc is getting traded next week for Fallout 4

I'm not trying to hate on Call of Duty or anything but I'm sort of confused as to how this game is set in the future and we have these cool robotic bodies/ Exo skeletons (I don't know which one it is, I haven't finished the campaign yet) yet it only takes 3 bullies to kill someone in multiplayer like they're made out of paper. Shouldn't the time to kill go up? Not down?

Good little review but you go on about gun mechanics and say destines are better I really don't see that at all hell counter strike 1.6 has better gun gun mechanisms then this game

What destiny should do is add more lore to the raids...that's what made vog great to me wondering if we could find some secret about kabr or a secret chest. Although paradox ruined going back for secrets to me lol. And bo3 should add some kind of rewards to zombies or progression like being able to start up with a better gun or something like that.

It's without a doubt the best game I've ever played, with its flaws and all. I just felt close to burning out after a year and change of consistently playing it everyday. The one thing i am absolutely dreading is coming back to destiny and playing on 3 sensitivity again. It's gonna feel so damn slow.
