BO3 vs. Destiny - First Impressions

I played some Black Ops 3 this morning. Here are some of my thoughts. 1. Destiny's gunplay is FAR superior to BO3. I grabbed a semi-auto rifle in BO3 and played with it for about an hour, and it doesn't even compare to the satisfaction I get from my Suros DIS-43. Time to kill is so low in BO3 that it almost doesn't even matter what gun you use, and there is little subtlety as you switch from weapon to weapon. 2. BO3 has better game modes. For starters, you can create custom matches with or without bots, you can host custom LAN PvP games, and zombie mode is a riot. I'd love to see custom games and cooperative "wave" style game modes in Destiny. 3. Motion mechanics in BO3 feel gimmicky - sure, running on walls is cool and all, but it's usually not practical. I think Destiny provides more movement variety without the gimmicks. 4. BO3 has special class "supers" much like Destiny, but they are typically less powerful and game-changing. Not sure which I like better. 5. I really like how BO3 rewards you for getting kill-streaks - you can call in UAVs, missile strikes, controllable rotorcraft drones, etc. In Destiny, you get a Shaxx voiceover, and that's about it. It's more satisfying to get streaks when there are game-affecting perks for doing so. Overall, BO3 is fun and offers a handful of differentiating features. But Destiny's superior gun mechanics mean that BO3 won't hurt it much. At least, it won't pull me away indefinitely.
