Lore question. At the end of the dark within mission your ghost says the hive havnt been on earth in centeries.
That would mean that sometime around the collapse or at least 200 years ago, the hive were on earth, and for some reason until we as gardians came along no one had encountered them since at least 200 years ago.
The ghost later says that we gave up the moon to keep the hive away from earth. I beleve that refers to when crota slaughtered thousands of gaurdians and the vangaurd declared the moon off limits.
My question is basically WTF. I mean if the hive where on earth before gaurdians were around then why didnt they take over the planet yet and if they left earth or went dorment, why?
Also follow up questions
After crota beat up the vangaurd ranks and took hold of the moon, what is the reason for his apparent deep sleep he under went.
Seems wierd that after becoming only one step away from the goal of taking the traveler and destroying humanity, crota took a super nap. Giving the gaurdians enough time to stop him from re-entering our plain of exsistance(which woulnd be a thing if he just stayed in our plain).
follow up question to the follow up question.
Eris tells us to go to the sunless cell in order to defeat the darkblade so he would be un-able to assume the throne in oryx's absence. Well my question is that i was under the assumption that the darkblade is a highly ranked "acsendent" hive, even called oryx's foster son.
If we defeat the dark blade in our plain of exsistance isnt he just gonna come back to assume the power and become king anyway, because we didnt kill him in his throne world?

Back in the dark ages the hive were on earth, guardians who were escorting wanderers back to the city ran into a seeder and promptly destroyed it but only one guardian survived.

I have an answer for the first question money the time they keft earth was when Crota first showed up and he needed more forces to take the moon from us
-
That answer conflicts with the goofy time line we are working with. Centeries ago is closer to the collapse and crota arriving is closer to present day. So what your answer tells me is closely following the collapse crota arrived and called all the hive forces back from earth to wait for the gaurdians to descover the power of the travelers light and form the last city on earth, then to grow strong enough to form the vangaurd, and have there numbers rank in the thousands. Crota THEN thinks its a good idea to take over the moon and when thousands of gaurdians show up crota completly slaughters 95% of those thousands. Doesnt make sence to pull forces away from your end game objective(earth/traveler) and wait 100 years or so to take a foothold that is further away from your main objective then where you already where un-contested.

This can help you out

I can answer the last one, I don't wanna mess the others up. He doesn't have a throne world, he isn't that powerful (I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure)
-
I wasnt totally sold on him having a throne world either. But he is considered oryx's foster son, i was assuming that he was fairly high on the hive mojo power structure. Also as oryx keeping him prisoner, that doesnt make sense with his sword logic(Pretty much survival of the fittest) Unless, if oryx keeping the darkblade prisoner in our plain of exsistance is his way of keeping the darkblade in check. If oryx killed the darkblade and he had a throne world of his own then the darkblade would essentually be "free" to a mass more forces and countinue his rebellian against oryx. Just my thought on it. I think darkblade has a throne world. Most likely not though

Probably not
