I said it was possible, not likely.
Frankly the whole idea of basing a prediction of a matches outcome based on one stat value alone is completely ridiculous to me. If you want a complete picture of someone's skill level you need to consider a lot more than a pub kd. What percent of their total kills are precision kills? What's their ratio of primary kills to special weapon kills? Are all their kills with the same weapon setup or is there a spread across all weapon types? Avg kill distance? Primary exotic with most kills? Id take a .5 kd NLB user over a 2.0 thorn any day. You know that person just caved to the meta and boosted their stats.
All in all, kd is a tiny part of all the many things that go into determining player skill.

Someone with a .5 k/d is in fact just worse than someone with a 2. Unless the .5er has only ever played sweaties. In which case he/she is an extreme outlier and should never even be considered when talking about stats.
