Shotguns are still RIDICULOUS in the Crucible
The same day the shot package perk was removed was supposed to mark a change in the crucible. IT DIDN'T!!!
People are still charging through bullets to get close enough for a one shot with the stupid shot gun.
I wish the shot gun was this accurate in real life at 400 yards. They would stop selling rifles and hand guns.
A person should not be able to tank though shots and one shot you. It's ridiculous.
Bungie get it together. Don't pretend your testers don't know that these try hards are running around with random shotguns killing with no real skill.
They should make a Playlist that would not allow shotguns or special weapons.
I bet those lame ducks would run and hide.
It's either the lag switch or the shot gun that kills you now.
Bungie don't pretend you don't see it with all of your clown stats you keep up with.

I'm sorry, but if you cannot kill someone who is charging straight ahead at you then you have a more serious problem than other people using shotguns. Also, did you know that you (yes you) can also use a shotgun? Did you know that you can even switch to it as the idiot is charging toward you and take advantage of the same one shot kill as he is attempting to get. In fact, you are in a more advantageous position as you simply have to hold your ground and fire your shotgun. Odds are very good that you can easily switch to your shotgun and shoot the -blam!-er before he has time to stop running, bring up his gun, and shoot. One more thing, did you also know that your character has this incredible ability called "walking backwards?" and you can even outpace someone who is charging at you by making use of this incredible ability. So you can use this wonderful thing called "walking backwards" to move out of shotgun range and continue shooting your attacker. Then he is dead and you are not. In that case, you can shed the salt from your pillar of butthurtness and continue on with your day.

Your point is that holding trigger firing non-stop with autorifle is much more skillfull than using cover, map awareness, speed and other movement trick to get close to exactly that range where you can pull the triger of your shotgun and not miss a shot, but not too late, where you will be meleed. Ok, wont convince you. But please, don't ruin other ppl's experience, who like playing with shotguns. They were nerfed SOOO many times that it is quite obvious - problem is not with shotguns as class being op. May be some concrete instance of shotguns (felwinter, partycrasher) were not very good balanced. But so goes with many others weapon types that were nerfed, like the final round with snipers. Shotguns are popular, thats why ppl are statistically often killed by it. Snipers are on the exactly the same pace. You really CAN deal with shotguns with ease if you understand CQC.

Are they really tanking through shots or you're just missing? I never had a problem shutting down someone charging at me with a shotgun and this is before the shot package removal.

You also have to put into account the pellets too if a couples miss 9/10 I'll die. Since they removed Shot Package it's been much harder to get kills with a shotty. So, really, you have no reason to complain.
