Sleeper Simulant aka the biggest joke ever
Soooo. a month long search for the simulant ends up being not the big mystery, but a stupid quest that bungie needed to flag. The only part of this quest that was actually cool and unique was the decryption part. All this build up for a crappy heavy fusion rifle that takes the exotic slot and only holds 3 shots per load and 7 in total? lol. got it in my grimoire, now this thing wont be seeing the light of day. It'll either sit in my vault as a lol trophy, or end up broken down for the shard. Bungie got us again. yeah, its a real competitor for the gally. a competitor with the year 1 gally in current endgame content on which of the two sucks the most.
Edit: Just wanted to say I'm actually really happy this thing was a dud and isnt a new gally. I hated how brokenly op that thing was. My only problem is the fact this thing was hyped pre release, hidden for a month to build up hype for a mystery, then turns out there was no mystery and we just had to wait for bungie to flip a switch to let us camp warsat spawns and do a strike for the hyped up exotic. that quest was a major let down for the month long wait.

8 RespuestasIf I'm not mistaken, rockets do about 13k damage, while a crit with the sleeper will do 15k. Not to mention ricochet, seems like a straight upgrade from any rocket launcher in PvE

It's a great weapon Just over hyped. Way too hyped SS ricochet can hit bosses multiple times

If anything, technically the Raze Lighter is probably the new Gjhallarhorn. Doesn't it do the highest DPS on bosses? Oh, and the Sleeper Stimulant isn't bad. The quest is.

It doesn't matter if the hype stems from a person who got to experience content early or from the developers of said content themselves, if it isn't YOUR experience then the hype is worthless. Stop building up expectations and believing another's hype for content that hasn't been released. You'll almost always be disappointed. That being said, I'm enjoying the Sleeper. Haven't beat Oryx yet or finished my exotic sword quest so having a new exotic to rank up gives me something new to do at the very east. I do feel like the ammo reserves should be increased, but overall still a decent heavy. I drop [un]shielded Majors (Knights, Wizards, Captains, etc) in two shots (precision shots) and that's without any of the perks unlocked. Apparently it only takes 10 Motes of Light to max it out so I'm looking forward to that, haha. P.S. This is NOT the Gjallarhorn of Year 2. Unless you're a geometry genius who can utilize the ricochet to hit the same target you just shot, Wolfpack Rounds will always keep Gjallarhorn at the top of the Heavy list.

Everyone is failing to realize the gun is only 290 and most likely their character is not light level 310 yet... full potential is yet to be seen.

When you and other people who dismantled the weapon are stupid cuz the gun isn't finished yet. If you read the description the first line says complete and the second say still in progress so there's one more part before we can see the sleeper stimulants full potential

There will never be a new Gally. The Gally was borderline gamebreaking and Bungie learned their lesson. Year Two is about balance. Just because GameInformer (not Bungie) hyped it up like that to get clicks it doesn't mean Sleeper was EVER intended to be another OP heavy like Gally. And no, it actually doesn't suck. It does crazy burst damage even at extreme ranges.

If the sleeper and the GALLY were both at the same attack damage. The sleeper would lose. Nothing beats a rocket explosion followed by clusters that track. Bungie knew that and that's why they had to leave it behind instead of bringing a year 2 GALLY.
