How about...
Time(hours) spent in game + game time with friends + befriending randoms during recruitment + enjoyment in the daily grind + a relatively low cost + enjoyable experience + secrets we are still figuring out - politics and conspiracy theories = a damn good game
Destiny offers hundreds of hours to play, maybe not a hundred of different content to go through but enough replay value to keep [i]many[/i] of us playing for hundreds of hours. Even adamant haters were pulled in for a couple hundred hours in the beginning.
The funny thing about this game is that if you aren't frequenting these forums specifically you have [i]no idea[/i] any of this is going on. People who don't look for politics simply enjoy it. Hell, the worst feedback I've heard from someone who doesn't spend time rubbing their anger boners all over everything was that the grind to level 20 was too much for them to push on through. And I agree. If it wasn't for my boyfriend telling me that everything opens up at level 20 I might not have seen it through. That was by far my least enjoyable time spent in this game.
Like, people in real life don't hate this nearly as much as you guys do. I'm being led to believe that it's the forums themselves that breed this brand of hate and that you all follow each other because it gives you something to do/troll others for.
And before any of you mindless haters say it, yes I know you're going to call me: fanboy, desticle, sheep, derogatory blowjob jabs, and whatever other names you want to use.
I would prefer logical responses please :)

Just saying, now that the DLC costs are mounting it's exceeded the price of a full scale subscription MMO at this point. Regardless of how long people choose to grind in terms of hours you can't deny it has the barest fraction of the content of a AAA open world MMO. Just cast your mind back and whether you liked WoW or not, consider the size of vanilla WoW.

tetris has literly loged milliosn of hours too, and i've probably logged more on it than this game. it cost me 39.99 20(/) years ago, I am pretty sure the vlaue of tetris is way way way beyond anything detiny coudlhope to acheive. I dont think of testris as the 'best value game i have ever purchased'. Why do you think that is? Becuse according to your metric tetris literally pi$$es on destiny. Of course that is if thats how you determine a games worth, most people woud consider this a poor wayto judge any game. So what itis it? is tetris miles better than destiny? or are you willingto admit that your time spent = greatness is a massivly fallable and pretty much irrelevent metric?

If bungie ever actually gives this "free" content. No one will be able to reason with people like her. You see the attempts of reasons the fanboys have to defend destiny are: 1) Entitled Gamer 2) Best game ever 10/10 3) 100's of hours spent = Value 4) Ad homonyms (you stupid etc) 5) Grimoire!!! BEST STORY EVA 6) TKK is the best thing to happen to modern day gaming 7) Bungie "hater" last but not least. 8) IF YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT BUY IT OR STOP PLAYING x 1000000000000 But imagine if bungie actually gives free content. (which of course we all know was payed with TKK). This is all she would have to say. 1) "it's free hater stop complaining!" and there my friend is the end of rational criticisms for destiny :) defeated by one word man, powerful shit. I've sunk hundreds of hours into games that were under a dollar. So for $60 I expect a few thousand hours of play time, not a couple hundred. Also you have to subtract time from destiny in that it throws away all that time with each dlc, since all that gear is entirely worthless, so $140 game an I've only got 100ish hours of entertainment for now.

But worth and money has a baseline equation that we can't really deny, try as hard as you want but that won't change. Besides, I can still pull out my ghorn or my bones of eao boots and still run a 285 light so I wouldn't say it's useless. Jumping puzzle? Extra jump boots, perfect, done.
