Personally I think the flat nerf to shotpackage and rangefinder both hurt less problematic shotguns like the secret handshake or hard luck charm and did very little to weaken the felwinter family.
I'd rather see higher impact gains on shotguns curved to allow other shotguns to compete, and completely remove their ability to crit. Crits are responsible for many of the ridiculous one boops that happen out of nowhere.
I'd like to hear your solutions though.

I've been using my Dry Rot exclusively in crucible lately and it has been a lot of fun. High rate of fire shotguns are now a viable alternative. Make it more interesting in my opinion.

Th3y need to nullify the range perk on shotguns just like they did with field scout. Dude on reddit has a great post detailing the changes and comparisons pre and post patch with video. Shotguns are basically unchanged.

They should get rid of range boosts all together. I'm having a good time with my astrol and it's feeling a bit more challenging. Still not seeing many fusion rifles

31 RespuestasI am a shotgun advocate, I love them, and will defend them. Although high impact low rate of fire shotguns are ruining this game. Constantly shotguns get bashed for being overpowered. Simply the ones to blame are high impact ones. For example felwinter and matador. Bump this post spread the word.

After 2.0 I've been playing outdoors on all the maps. If I can't be outdoors I keep my distance. It's helped me die less to shotguns

Also shotguns are counter-able with many other strategies, most players are just too lazy or too unintelligent to strategically outsmart the guy that hides around a corner with a shotty the whole match. Add more big maps like Bastion and First Light where using a shotgun is the [b]worst[/b] choice, not dozens more of CQC maps.

Buff them in PvE, just a tiny bit more range nerf in PvP. I got sniped halfway across a room by Found Verdict, and that thing doesn't even have Shot Package or Rangefinder.

Not saying this should have happened but if hand cannons were left alone then the shotgun nerf would have been effective. Hand cannons were able to challenge shotguns just outside their kill range. Pulse riffles can't contest close range and have a hard time in mid range in some situations due to small maps. Auto riffles don't kill quick enough to contest at short range. Weapon balancing is some tricky shit. Hard to reduce the power of guns with out making them obsolete.

I guess everyone is wanting shotguns to be a 2 shot kill, right? It seems most threads are essentially asking for even more of a nerf and I can only assume its cause they can one shot kill. I never had a problem when I played pvp but I wasn't like a lot of you guys; professional gamers or semi pro competitive players. I just played for the hell of it Try pve though and I think you'll enjoy shotguns. They are very weak compared to pre 2.0

I believe the issue is the terrible map designs (don't get me wrong, some are very fun, but my argument is that shotguns aren't the problem). There are very few decent sight lines, doorways backing on to more doorways and hallways. Too many right angles and blind corners everywhere. The amount of people using crouch and shotgun is absurd. A little bit bigger and better map designs and shotguns won't be as rampant or seem as O.P as people think they are. Just my opinion though

I think they are ok, if they make big maps people will start complaining about snipers and camping all the time, and then people will complain about them. :)

Editado por NateOrb: 9/15/2015 5:16:45 AMShort answer no they arent op(especially not in pve now lmao) long answer I think the issue is all the close quarters maps/parts of maps Most primaries have too long of a time to kill and heavies cant be used most of the time Snipers are pretty much worthless against close targets and some primaries can fill their role at medium-long range or you can just abandon that fight if the other person is far enough away Fusion rifles are basically irrelevant at close range because of charge time then they still arent anything special at mediumish range(plus primaries can be used at that range) especially with how easy it is to strafe in this game(dodge a couple projectiles and the other person has to charge a SECOND shot) No opinion on sidearms

Felwinter/party crasher/matador still snipe, slight nerf of the perks didn't do anything, it's also more noticeable since all the new maps are very much CQB type maps.
