Different guns use different ammo. Even shotguns could be different.

Editado por CrashBashDE: 9/14/2015 3:18:52 AMOh come one. Don't try to find an excuse cause there is none.... Every shotgun uses the same special ammo type. There is only primary, special and heavy ammo packs. Not shotgun ammo packs typa A and type B....wtf. Even Bungie said that they want to penalize you for swapping weapons which is stupid beyond logic.
-
No, i mean, in real life.
-
This is Destiny.
-
Besides all you have to do is wait until you die to switch weapons. Not terribly inconvenient.
-
Correct. A lot of Destiny mirrors real life. Most of Destiny is fantasy. In this case, real life is immitated in art.
-
Mate...I did the army. I don't remember losing rockets when swapping grenade launchers. It's just a shitty mechanic and I am sure you'd feel better when you swap weapons without losing ammo just because Bungie thought it would be ok...cause its not.
-
You did army? Rockets and grenades are not the same thing. You cant put a javelin on an m4. No, actually, I think the mechanic brings a bit of realism and encourages smart play.
-
Not really. It actually discourages "smart" play. The best special weapon for a given scenario, even in the same mission/strike/raid, can change, and should if the mission/strike/raid has been designed well. But switching tools gimps you pretty stupidly for no real reason.
-
You do realize that nothing in the game is "your way right away", right? Ive very rarely needed to switch weapons so badly that I was just so gimped by this ammo mechanic. In Fact, never in PvE has it ever mattered. Its only mattered in PvP when I forget my ammo will be set to zero.
-
That's cool. It's happened to me a lot. Especially when fusion rifles, which were always good, got nerfed into the ground, and it was basically shotguns for short range, snipers for long.
-
I only use rockets on my Gally or Hunger. And there is only one type of ammo for each slot in game. Stop bringing real world logic here pls. So, heavy ammo for heavy weapons. Taking ammo is bad and that's it.
-
That's what fps games are based off of... Real life. If you switch between ghally and hunger then you are bound to lose ammo because ghally rockets explode into Wolfpack rounds and hunger rockets make smaller explosions around the rocket. 1 bullet does not fit all guns
-
Even your fantasy logic doesnt make sense.
-
Now you are just posting just so you post something.... There is NO WAY that you lose bullets JUST FOR SWAPPING the same weapon type!!!
-
Yes, there is. Take shotguns for example. Different shotguns have different gauges. They also take different shells. You cant use 3" shells in every gun. You also cant use a 12 gauge shell in a 20 gauge gun. Look at fusion rifles. They have different impact. This is because they use different ammo. You cannot use fusion ammo in a shotgun. It makes all kinds of sense.

NOT IN DESTINY!! That's what I am trying to tell you ! There is only primary, special and heavy ammo. There are not any other sub types of ammo for each slot type =)) There si only special ammo and that's it ! Only Borderlands has more ammo types for different weapon types. Destiny has ONLY GREEN ammo for special weapons and that's it. READ THIS ! By your logic, my Gally uses different rockets compared to my Hunger of Crota when I swap them. BUT you DON'T get your rockets back when you swap them back !!!! You still LOSE ammo !! It's not like you keep ammo for Hunger and use another for your Gally. You just keep on losing ammo for swapping between them. PS: in real life you don't shoot robots and fly to Mars. Just stop defending a unique garbage mechanic like Destiny has...

I think you need a chill pill bud. Just cause the ammo crates are color coded doesnt mean that fusion rifles use the same ammo as a shotgun. Your ghost will use that green crate to create the ammo you need for the weapon you have equipped. The reason you lose ammo is because your ghost uses the purple ammo in your reserve that has not been manufactured yet to fill the magazine of your newly equipped weapon. You can only carry so much ammo. When you switch the ammo is discarded and new ammo manufactured. This is why you dont regain your ammo. Make better, smarter choices. This is a solid game mechanic.
